My regular vet referred me to a surgeon here to get a second opinion on my dog's knee. An assistant vet (not the one I came to see) came in and spoke to me briefly. She then wanted to take my dog to another room & examine him without me present. I wasn't comfortable and told her. She told me "this is the way we do things here" and "let me do my job". After refusing to let her examine my dog out of sight, she agreed to "make an exception" & do part of the exam with me present. 2 technicians were brought in who pinned my dog to the floor, scaring him and causing him to panic. I was told by the assistant vet "not to interfere". She was holding his bad leg as he thrashed on the floor, yelping. She told me my dog was "dangerous" and "would not subject her staff" to continue the exam without sedating him. Unacceptable. My dog gives what he receives. Ask him to lay down and he will. Force him to the floor & pin him, and he panics. So would I! I ended the appt. and won't go back.

Worst Experience Ever! This Clinic is a Death Trap. After taking my pet for care and receiving none, ill treatment aside, I went home with my pet to find that the initial problem had not been addressed. I was horrified. He had swallowed a string and could do do nothing but vomit and dwindle away. these vets, vetspecialistsofrochester.com, and http://vetspecialistsofrochester.com/..., Dr. Jen Grossman, had left him to die. I can't trll you the pain that we went through due to the extensive damage caused by their recklessness. Inhumane does not describe their beside manor nor does sadistic. I was mortified at their lack of love and respect for a helpless animal. This clinic receives massive massive funding from Western New York , and are allowed to operate as on of the only emergency vet clinics in Rochester NY. Unfortunate , but true, I implore you to find care elsewhere. Terrible. Horrible. Inhumane.
