I wish I could rate an individual Dr here, as my experience with Dr. McCutcheon was wonderful- the raw diet changed my cats life. But, after finding an arthritic growth on my (then) 16 yr old cats leg, I had the very bad luck of getting Cindy Kneebone one day. Not enough space to explain how unsympathetic, arrogant and ROUGH she was with my senior, in pain and terrified cat. After making it VERY clear she had no time for 'old and grumpy' cats, she then pumped him so full of sedatives just to take an X-ray that he couldn't stand up straight for THREE DAYS after! My questions of how to treat his arthritis were met with a distracted shrug(while she lovingly stroked someone else's dog) and a 'one day his leg will just give out' and that's that. Well Cindy, he's now 20 and he's doing awesome. You however, were the worst vet he's ever seen in his long life and yes, I totally got the message that you prefer dogs. And I don't care. But your clients should. I Wish I wrote this 4 yrs ago.

I just had a very bad experience with Mrs. Kneebone who I will refuse to call doctor but gladly call a sales person. She was supposed to do a surgery on my dog. She did not look at me when she got in the room, after making me wait 1 hour, ignored my concerns. I realized later when she finally talked to me that she had ABSOLUTELY no idea what my dog's health history was and why she was having a surgery. She attacked me the whole time she talked to me because I didn't want to do the biopsy on the lump like she wanted to since she was about to remote it anyway, was mean, unprofessional and has a lack of compassion that I've never seen before. After telling me that my dog had cancer without any proof since no biopsy were done, she left the room and said that she would not operate. Not only she caused me a huge amount of distress but she didn't even want to help my dog who apparently is very ill. Meanwhile my lovely girl is not limping anymore so she didn't need that surgery after all...

Did not provide any value over a normal vet.
The filthy dog bowl in the waiting area should have been the first clue (why would you have a communal dog bowl at a vet? It would be like sharing a water bottle at a doctor's office).
Very unprofessional office staff.

This clinic is great for vaccine titres and routine check ups. If you feed a raw diet and want a clinic that supports it, they're probably the best in the city. I would only see Dr. McCutcheon or Dr. Kneebone. I would DEFINITELY avoid this clinic if you're facing an emergency. There are some things that require a western medicine approach (oral antibiotics, steroids) and your pet would probably die before they prescribe stuff like that here. My puppy had a rare immune disorder and this clinic's "supportive" approach could have cost her extensive facial scarring and possibly her life. We went right away for a second opinion, and thankfully our puppy's treatment program (steroids) began to reverse her condition within 24 hours. We will continue to go to this clinic for routine stuff.

I have been going to this clinic for years and the service is alright when your pet is healthy. However, my older cat recently became very sick and I allowed myself to get talked into a vet bill of over $1,000.00. Less than 2-weeks later my cat was failing drastically and when I called for an emergency appt for euthanasia they were more concerned with the schedule and charging an emergency fee than the welfare and suffering of my poor cat. They suggested I bring her in the next day. I did convince them to squeeze me in however my conversation with the administrative staff was so unpleasant I decided to go to another animal clinic. This was a huge disappoinment and I will never go back. At least the other animal clinics do not profess to be more than they are. The bottom line is it is all about the MONEY and convenience of the schedule. In other words this is a BUSINESS just like the others. Just because they profess to be "holistic" doesn't mean they care.

My dog will be turning 17 soon. He's been seeing Dr. Kneebone for most of those years. I've found her to be extremely knowledgeable and sensitive to my wishes ( no vacinations, heart worm, only treat with homeopathic remedies etc.) The tech and front desk staff have been terrific as well. I highly recommend this clinic.

Appreciate the non-traditional and long-term view of healthcare here. Dr McCutcheon used homeopathy to cure my first cat of a chronic sinus problem two other vets could do nothing for. Have not had any trouble with my current pets so we only visit every other year or so and get no guff from doctors or staff. Very impressed with Dr M's ability to calm all my pets.

I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and drive over 36 kms from my home to visit this clinic, passing dozens of other veterinarians along the way. Drs. McCutcheon and Kneebone offer a unique practice that combines all the traditional therapies with a wide range of holistic modalities. I appreciate the support of species-appropriate feeding (note - anyone who thinks that such food can be found in a typical grocery store needs to read some labels!). Their vaccination protocol offers good protection to the pet and adheres to the most recent studies that indicate most animals are over-vaccinated, causing many health issues over the long term. The breeder of my oldest dog strongly urged me to do my research regarding vaccination and diet and to choose my veterinarian accordingly. My research led to a more natural of diet (raw) and reduction in the use of vaccines. I am extremely pleased with my experiences at East York and its caring, friendly, highly professional staff.

We did quite a bit of research looking for a good holistic vets before choosing Dr. Paul McCutcheon. The clinic is nice and clean. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. This clinic is not for those who prefer conventional treatments for illness. We knew how we wanted to raise our dog and found a clinic that will support us in our holistic methods.

This place is for people who take a long-term view of their animals. If you want a quick fix with medication, they will supply it but will reiterate that your animals health is based on what it eats. That is why they advocate the raw diet. Going there is not cheap but if you follow their advice by feeding raw food, your vet bills will be lower during your animal's life span.
