Click to report rating    8/2/17   5     5     5     5   I used to come here 4 years ago and did not have a good experience with the staff at that time, however, decided to give them a second chance and came back last year after my dog developed seizures and was pleasantly surprised by the change of staff (especially our introduction to Dr. Seon!) - how attentive, caring and empathetic they all were. We even receive follow-up calls from her just to see how he's doing. We're never pushed into anything and always get a breakdown of cost before making any decisions on treatment. Would definitely recommend this clinic. RID: 64339

3/29/17   5     5     5     5   Amazingly friendly staff from front to back. Their first priority is always my kitten. I appreciate everything they have done for him! RID: 63188
Click to report rating    5/26/16   1     2     2     2   I took my 5 and half month old kitten for his neuter. The staff told me they'd call me at noon to let me know how it went. I didn't hear anything back so I called them and they said they were falling behind and hadn't started his neuter yet. About half hour later I received a phone call saying that my kitten's heart had stopped beating during the surgery. He was a perfectly healthy kitten and never had any problems, he was up to date with his vaccines and everything. I work with vets and got them to review the paperwork. They said that they didn't do a pre-op exam, they had given him the high end of the range of drugs, and did not use a more effective technique to give oxygen - they used a mask whereas a tube is a lot more effective. I regret ever coming to this place because as a result I lost the love of my life. I hope people do their research before taking their pets just anywhere. RID: 60697
Click to report rating    5/29/14   1     1     1     1   I had a horrible experience here. All they seem to care about is selling more services. I was there for an ear infection and they were trying to sell me preventative tooth services. I got a lot of "I don't know" and it will cost a small fortune to find out... but try this $50 cream. Went to Oshawa Animal Hospital, and it cost less, and solved the problem in 1 day. RID: 51856
Click to report rating    7/17/13   3     3     4     1   Jody had been my vet for my 3 dogs for a number of years. When I met her, I thought I met an Angel. My 13yr old cockapoo had a lump on his side which I had been concerned about. Dr. Jody advised me that there was nothing to be concerned about. The tumour was nowhere near any organs, and my dog could live like this for years with no ill effects. I actually went back to see Dr. Jody as the lump appeared to be getting larger. Again everything fine according to her. I left for vacation and had a friend stay at my house with my dogs. My dog collapsed and was rushed to emerg. The tumour had collapsed his lung and he could hardly breath. It also pushed his heart over to the other side of his chest. I came home to an urn as nothing could be done for him. Had I known he was so ill, I would have never left for vac, and I would have euthanized him before his lung collapsed and he suffered a terrible death. I honestly believe that Jody left sooner than she would have because of this episode. RID: 45644
Click to report rating    7/15/13   1     3     2     2   Staff very incompetent. Refused to permit prescription for online meds. Then booked appointment for emergency request 2weeks later than verbally given on phone, and told to come back then. Very indifferent to animal suffering RID: 45597
Click to report rating    3/26/13   3     3     2     2   I am very disappointed with this clinic. Our Jack Russel was treated for 3 years for a condition that she never had. This was only discovered after we got a 2nd opinion from another vet. She had been on Prednisone off an on for 3 yrs with no good results. After only 2 days on a new pill prescribed by our new vet, her cough was gone. They also don't tell you the cost of tests and treatments upfront. It's a surprise when you go to pay. The reception staff would order liquid medicane without asking us what size we wanted and then expected us to pay for the size they ordered. Prices are high with no leeway. Our dog now has gone blind in one eye. This should have been caught by Brooklin Vet on one of her annual checkups. Now we are faced with a possible surgery to remove the eye. Had this been caught earlier it could have been treated. Overall, we're very disappointed with them and have since changed vets for both our dog and cat. RID: 41334
8/27/12   3     3     1     1   I have held back on submitting this rating for several years since I did not want to impact any business that might go to Dr. Jody Mokler. As I indicate on my own website, Jody is a remarkable vet, however my overall experience with Brooklin Vet Hospital is horribly disappointing. There was a revolving door of incompetent, sloppy and uncaring vets there with Jody being the only Doctor I could trust. With Jody gone, I can tell the whole story. The non-Doctor staff were great, but I would not trust any other doctor there with my animal's care ever. Now that I read that Jody has moved back to PEI, I have no hesitation at all warning people to stay well away from Brooklin Vet Hospital and I will be amending my website shortly to reflect that. My dogs are now both deceased, not as a result of anything to do with the vet hospital (cancer took both), but I would never take another companion animal of mine back to Brooklin Vet Hospital in the future. Click to report rating    2/21/12   1     3     3     1   Coming to this hospital from a vet's office that injured my dog, I thought I'd found a goldmine. Dr. Mokler came highly recommended & she seemed fantastic the few & only times we saw her. To our disappointment, soon after, we discovered she is moving back to PEI. I called to see if our appointments for neutering were still on, & discover they are, but it would be her last day. I expressed concern over having to find out through the grapevine that she is leaving &who would be our new vet. To my horror, they say it is a vet who misdiagnosed my best friend's dog years ago, with a "sore neck" when in fact he was terminally ill with a menigioma. I tried to book a new appointment for our puppy who seems to have "Wobbler Syndrome." They gave us an appt 2 days before neuter date. This all happened last week. Yesterday, I received a letter in the mail that said they would no longer provide us with vet care, and advised us to find somewhere else to go. Just like that! RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL!! RID: 32384
