Beware a young doctor named Kirsten Steele at this facility; she demonstrates an imperious and condescending attitude, does not entertain questions from pet parents, does not volunteer explanations of medical conditions, and is indifferent to and untrained in alternative therapies. Her solution is to medicate without concern for side effects even after they are brought to her attention. We have had universally wonderful relationship with our vets all over the country, but Kirsten Steele was the first vet we've encountered with a negative, dismissive attitude. This is the only animal eye clinic in northern Nevada, but there is an older doctor, Dan Lavach, who sees patients only a few days a month at this clinic. If you need care for your pets, you will be much better off with him. The support staff are civil and competent. We were left waiting in a hot, unventilated examining room in the middle of winter for 20 minutes on three occasions. Steele's response: "we're comfortable."
