Over the past 8 or 9 years, I have taken 2 different dogs to ISU. One dog was born with a congenital heart defect and the other had cancer. All surgeries went very well. The dogs made full recoveries. I was very pleased with their treatment. Staff was friendly. Costs were far lower that you'd expect. My only problem with ISU is actually not something that happened to me. A friend brought in a dog. The dog was misdiagnosed and due to that misdiagnosis, the dog died a few days later. This is the nightmare scenario that overly protective pet owners always imagine. The thing about this story that is positive for ISU is that despite all this, my friend still brings her pets to ISU when she wants excellent advanced pet care. She recognizes that in general they do a excellent job. FYI advice to every pet owner is to talk with your vet when a diagnosis is made. Be concerned if the diagnosis doesn't make sense, or doesn't explain the symptoms.
