i lost my beloved pet because of the botched surgery performed by a surgeon at the animal medical center in new york. i paid about 9 thousand dollars for the treatment and surgery of my little poodle. but the surgeon Avery Bennett did not perform the surgery according to the protocol and failed to remove all the mammary glands in my poodle who was suffering from low grade mammary cancer and biopsy of the masses showed the edges were clean. Which means it was not an aggressive cancer and if properly removed my dog would have survived. initially it was recommended by the oncology department at AMC that all mammary glands were to be removed. due to the size and age of the dog the Oncologist had suggested that surgery be done in 2 stages. one side of the mammary gland chain was to be removed in each stage. but that doctor Avery Bennett said he could do it in one stage. after a lot of debate when everyone agree because he is the chief of surgery there he performed the surgery.
