We took our cat here because she was vomiting and would not eat or go to the bathroom... After bloodwork and X-rays they diagnosed her as being constipated, gave her an enema and sent her home. Once she was home she was still just as sick, so I called them back and asked what we should do. They said they had "exhausted all their efforts" there and I should take her to an animal hospital in Syracuse, which is an hour and a half away. We called another vet who got her in immediately, and also did bloodwork and X-rays. Her WBC count was 10,000 over the normal limit and her intestine was 3 times the size it should be due to a foreign blockage. They did surgery and thankfully saved our cat's life... Needless to say, we will not be returning to Mohawk Valley Vet, and I would like to give "Dr." Thomas an enema myself! What a joke of a facility, after my experience I heard from numerous other people about near death exp's there, and some who weren't so lucky. :(

My dog was going crazy, biting and pulling his hair out. I took him to Dr. Cassandra Carvin at Mohawk Valley Vet Clinic. She diagnosed him with thyroid problems and gave him thyroid medication. My dog continued to bite and rip his hair out all day and night. He didn't eat or sleep. It was sad to watch him suffer. I took him back and thankfully saw Dr. Gary Hopson. Dr. Hopson immediately knew it was sarcoptic mange. He treated my dog with an injection every 2 weeks for 3 weeks and he improved very quickly. Unfortunetly, Dr. Hopson has retired because he is a wonderful, caring animal doctor. I will not be returning to this hospital now that he has gone.
