I had been taking my husky there for 4 years. It always seemed good, aside from one front desk girl who seems afraid of my dog all the time (he’s the sweetest husky) and who seems incompetent .The owner was always good with my husky… the new male vet is clearly afraid of my boy and needed me in the room this past time. He then made me muzzle him for no reason when my husky was already overheating and panting (30 degrees outside and my boy has a fur coat on)… I muzzled him and he was suffocating /struggling to breathe. My husky had done nothing that warranted the muzzle, other than be around staff who were afraid of his appearance. I stopped the examination as my husky was in distress and gasping for air with the muzzle on …. I told them I’d be taking him to a vet where the staff are actually comfortable with animals. I switched to a different veterinary clinic immediately after certifying that the new one is not afraid of huskies.

Unfortunately my dog became ill suddenly and after two days of expensive vet visits where he was put on an IV to rehydrate him, had blood drawn and had his anal glands expressed for some reason, I was told to change his food to a brand that they sold at that clinic. The dog at that point couldn't even swallow a drop of water. His health was declining quickly so I left the clinic and brought him to the Lola pet hospital where they quickly diagnosed total organ failure with little chance of recovery. The cause was either injestion of toxic substance or an unknown virus. The dog had been suffering so much that I knew the decision to put him down was the right one. I am still bitter that while my dog was obviously dying, the vet was trying to sell me dog food. Total incompetence and I will never bring any of my pets to the clinic again.

As a previous poster said, Dr. Purtscher is amazing. She is what has kept me going to this clinic for so long. However, the front desk staff leaves A LOT to be desired (one individual in particular). This person has been screwing everything up (ie. not order medications when she was supposed to and having me wait for over a week for something that was never to come). Unfortunately I will be switching offices, despite loving Dr. Purtscher. These errors are costing me time, money, and my pets' health.

Vet was great - answered all my questions & concerns. Went to pay a $400 annual visit with vaccines only to be insulted by vet tech who told me my dog needed serious behavior training lol. Wow! Great customer service! Will not return & will not recommend to my dog walking clients....yes I own a pet service company. Funny how one employee having a bad day can effect your business. You never know who is walking thru your door...so cheer up & smile.

I would strongly recommend this Vet to everyone. I have had two cats and a dog and they have been the most compassionate people to myself and my pets. They even call you a day or two after your visit to be sure everything is going well. Their prices are reasonable and actually cheaper than other places in Orleans.

When I went to the Trim Pet Hospital me and my dog were welcomed very warmly by Kelly, a Veterinary Technician, at the front desk. My dog had gotten attacked by another dog in the dog park and was severely injured. The veterinarian I saw was very compassionate and caring. She did a thorough physical exam and explained everything that needed to be done. They decided to keep Rocco for a few hours to suture the wounds under anesthesia and he was put on antibiotics. He recovered well from the anesthesia and the wounds healed nicely. I received excellent care at the Trim Pet Hospital, the staff was very caring and loving. The amount I paid for the procedure was very reasonable and I would recommend this clinic to all my friend. I was very happy with the care Rocco received there.
