The reception staff are nice but the female vet I think her name was Teresa was so mean every time I go there she make feel bad about my pup and tell how my dog doesn't behave. Last time she put a muzzle on 4 month old puppy and was yelling at him and taping his nose. All she care about is selling me stuff that i don't need. Also lack of knowledge. Dr.Dale Stevens is very friendly and nice with my pup. I would recommend him

The reception staff were very friendly and took us into the exam room right away. It was no time until the Vet came in to do a checkup on Fido Dr. Green answered all our questions. The prices are reasonable compared to the other clinics in the area.

Dr Green has to be the rudest person I have ever met. The prices are not fair eighteen $ for a nail clip that most clinics include in their fees. This Dr is in the wrong profession. He is so rude I can't believe he is in business.

Thank you to those who posted such honest and very sad reviews. Many were similar in nature and completely unacceptable. We've found a new vet for our fur baby. We will not take chances with such incompetence and cold heartedness:( I've always felt a cold undertone there.

I agree with the other ratings and can only suspect the good reviews are from staff or family members. My cat developed cystitis and while I didn't know it at the time had developed a blockage that prevented her from being able to pee. This vet completely misdiagnosed her. They said to change her food to the expensive food they carried. I took her home and then researched. I should have researched first and saved us all the pain. We rushed her to the other vet and she's doing well and on the mend now. When you google you can't even find the vet's names anywhere - Avoid them at all costs.

Been taking my dog there since we got him 12 years ago. Never ever had an issue with them. Friendly staff, and knowledgeable, easy to talk to doctors. I find it's always clean there and I've never had a ridiculous wait time. Prices are very reasonable, they aren't out to rob you blind.

Avoid at all costs. I will spare the details because it's still very painful but thankfully I found another vet able to save my dogs life. If you love your animal don't even cross their doorstep. I agree with others, these positive reviews must be taken with a grain of salt.

I was nervous to go because of all of the negative reviews. But i dont know where they came from. i have only good things to say. The staff were great and sqeezed us in even though we have never been before. Dr. Green was great and very factual. He told us all the options for our 12 year old diabetic cat. He answered our questions and was upfront with all pricing. I am glad we decided to go despite some reviews.

I am shocked that this clinic has received any positive reviews. We had an awful experience here and almost lost our dog as a result. I will save the details of our horror story but the good news is my wife found another clinic and they were able to tell us what was wrong immediately. I can't believe they are still in business. After going through this I started reading and researching and all vets had a bad rating here and there. Nothing like this clinic. I wish I had researched before coming here. I have learned my lesson. If you love your furred companion, you need to pay attention to the bad reviews and go somewhere else.

Staff friendly when making the call, and made room for a quick appt. for us in 1 hour. Dr. Green saw us on time, friendly knowledgeable, and diagnosed the problem quickly which was confirmed by the sample.

Please do not go to this clinic. You can see the reviews that tell the truth - it's as though the people that left the positive reviews most recently are either family members of the owner or were at an entirely different clinic. We took our tiny puppy there because he was vomitting and crying. This vet said there was nothing wrong with him and to change his food. My husband stoped him right away and told me something wasn'r right about the place. We left and went to another local clinic where they diagnosed immediately what was wrong (worms) and got him on proper fluids and meds. He was back to his little self. I agree with the other poster - had we stayed with this clinic our puppy would be dead.

First visit with our cat, we are new to the area. Very pleased with care and time spent with her, but had to wait quiet awhile although the clinic did not seem that busy.

Can't say enough looked after my 14year old yorkie I recently had to let go. They were great a very difficult time they always told me the truth with Christie did not try to scam more money out of us. I even received a sympathy card a few weeks later. I will halways miss Christie. However I am picking up my new puppy Lily from the breeder at the end of March and will be bringing Lily to Newcastle straight away to be checked. This is the only vet I have ever liked they are honest and straight forward. No gimicks, No scams Thankyou for all your help and conpassion.

This clinic goes well beyond disgusting. I asked to see a vet because my dog had developed a sudden and critical emergency. I appreciate they may not be emergency vets but there were no clients in the place when we arrived and the vet refused to come out of his office. He told his receptionist to tell us to go back the way we came to our regular vet miles away. I told her my dog wasn't going to make it that far, she was turning blue. I asked if there was another option for us and she just repeated for us to go back to our own vet. I called my regular vet who gave me 'another' vet clinic and we rushed there. That clinic not only welcomed us but saved my dog's life. Newcastle didn't even offer the other vet clinic as an option - just stared when I asked for a referral. My vet on the phone directed us to the other clinic. Thank God. If we had stayed in Newcastle she would probably be dead now.

By far the worst vet I have every seen .
After setting an appointment I still had to wait 20 minutes before they brought me too the room where they told me they cant help me unless I can fork up 2k . then literally proceeded to live me alone in the room without so much as a take care or best of luck with your dying cat. Less then 24 hrs later my best friend died . They could has helped but didn't . If you treasure your animal DO NOT TAKE THEM TO NEWCASTLE VETERINARY CLINIC !!!! If I could rate them 0/5 I would

I used to take my dog here but, when he got sick one time, I had to call them a bunch of times to convince them he was even sick, and then they charged me an emergency fee and the vet kept telling me he was going to die when I had someone with me who had TWO dogs who had had this condition and they are super greedy. All they care about is money. They would not even so much as put a blanket on my dog until my mom gave them $1000. Plus, the vet kept telling me that my 5-year-old dog was going to die within 24 hours. He is 10 now and perfectly healthy.... I would never ever take my pets here again. Also, yesterday my friend took her dying cat in and they would not even do anything except a general examination because she does not have a lot of money, and they WILL NOT do payments plans. Greedy Greedy people. You should be ashamed

Amazing staff! My family has been taking their pets here for years. I thought I'd leave a review after a friend of mine took their dog to another vet for a test. I got the results that day and for less than half the price. They ended up having to wait 3 days for the results. For me though, I drive from Oshawa for the miracle workers at the Newcastle Vet!

I had booked an appointment with my dog, and was surprised when I counted six dogs waiting ahead of me, plus they were taking "walk-ins" for heartworm testing! When we finally saw the vet, we were rushed through the appointment and he barely examined my dog. The staff doesn't seem to be organized and it takes 20+ minutes to process the invoice and dispense any medication. This clinic is one of the least expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Although they are one of the cheapest clinics in the area, I have experienced some questionable care. I orinally went with this clinic as they quoted me the best price for all the initial kitten visits and neutering. However, they neglect to include the costs of IV fluids or pain management (in clinic and take home) in the price which makes for a nice surprise. To the best of my knowledge they also no longer have an RVT on staff, which is like a hospital having no RNs. The one dr also seems very uncomfortable working with any dog and I have had my own dog muzzeled before even examining her. I do understand the importance of staff to avoid injury but I feel like this is a little extreme. They also made a big deal about requesting files when switching clinics. Vet records are treated as confidential but I highly doubt "competetion" clinics are going to go around trying to steal patients by requesting random files.
