They overdosed a medication (label said to give it every 12 hours instead of every 24 hours so it was a double dose) and my rat almost died. Less than 2 weeks earlier, they underdosed a medication (prescribed 10mg/ml instead of 100 mg/ml). A few months prior, they mixed up expiration dates by reversing months and years. Also returned a pet's ashes to me divided into 3 separate urns. Rather than apologizing + taking responsibility, they banned me when I confronted them about it, with false accusations to try and shift the blame. Their vets can't make a diagnosis but will take your money anyway, only to say they have no idea. Their technicians can't do basic math and threaten the lives of the animals in their care with frequent dosage errors. They are a danger to animals, in addition to being completely unprofessional to deal with. They almost killed my pet rats twice in only two short weeks. They have no business offering care to exotic animals and I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

This clinic is awesome! It is clean and smells good. Staff are so caring and vets are there to help you. You get your moneys worth- been to other vets in the area and the value and service you get here is great. My cat loves going there and my bunny is so gently handled. Would recommend them without reservation.

I have been taking my dog there for the last 2 years. I just wasn't treat well, the front staff was unfriendly except for one lady. Vet were nice but just felt like it was a money game all the time with them. One time we were late for an appointment and they made us wait 2 hours (I had newborn who was 8 days old)this appointment was just to find out the result of a test for our dog, which was negative.

I attended this clinic for many years. My final visit was with Dr Koseck I had a horrible experience. I am writing this in case it may help others. Ontario vets are licensed to practice by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario. The have to adhere to a Code of Ethics. If you feel that you have been unfairly treated or have been dealt with in an unprofessional manner, you can write a letter of complaint to the College. They take these matters very seriously. They will investigate and they have the ability to discipline their members. Most people are not aware of this.

Recently had our much loved 8 lb ,14 yr old Pomeranium put to sleep & it took 1 sedative and 3 euthanasia shots, the last one directly into her heart, before she finally died.Poor little girl whined for more than an hour in my husbands arms before she passed. We know this isn't normal as we've had 2 other large dogs put to sleep and it was almost instant. When we asked the next day the vet said that they checked her leg after she passed and feel that the vet tech "Blew her vein" when she put the IV & sedation in.When the first euthanasia shot didn't work why wouldn't the vet take her into the back and find a vein in the other leg instead of giving multiple injections that weren't working? It would have been much easier on our pet and family. It's a hard decision made out of love when you put a dearly loved pet to sleep. Once made,we felt it was best for our little girl to be out of pain. Not so in the end.My husband said it was horrific & he'll never be able to get it out of his head.

Friendly and quality care, but they tried to sell us everything under the sun. I'm not sure I could trust our dog was getting the care he really needed or just what they wanted to sell us.

We've been using the services of this clinic for approximately 25 years for 5 different pets & never had a bad experience with them. A few years back they did have the system of being seen by a tech first & 'sold' a list of preventative tests. That appears to have stopped. Perhaps since Dr. Korver took over full ownership. Their level of service & care is high (e.g., pain management) so I guess you pay for that but to be honest I have checked prices around this area & never found a great difference. They are certified wildlife vets so can treat (free of charge to you) any injured (save-able)wild animal you bring in(& then arrange for it to be released into the wild). 'Human' doctors could learn a lot from them about supporting the loss of a loved one. I've always found everyone there to be caring, compassionate & knowledgeable.

If you're looking for impersonal service and lack of knowledge combined with a cash grab atmosphere, this is the place! Brought our dog in for an incontinence problem. After doing a simple urine test Dr. Kosech suggested doing $500+ worth of additional tests for no reason (X-Rays,Blood, etc). Essentially a cash grab if you don't put your foot down and say no. We put our dog on antibiotics, and another ($140) urine test had to be done. Got a call back from a different vet who informed us more tests would be necessary before putting our dog on hormones (which was never mentioned the first time by Dr. Kosech, so another cash grab IMO). Dr. Kosech said the treatment would only be 5 days long, then turns around a week later and says it's a lifetime treatment, and denies ever saying it was a 5 day treatment. Clearly the vets here are too busy to care about looking after your pets individual needs. The conflicting opinions between all of them is also concerning. Go somewhere else if you can

Best. Vet. EVER. They give you all the treatment options, follow up with you, and really respond to your concerns. Like others said, they research really well, too. HIGHLY recommend.

This clinic headed by Dr. Wendy Korver and an incredibly caring staff saved my dog's life. We were on the road starting holidays when she had a cr medical crisis. This clinic and the team went above and beyond. We had originally stopped at the Newcastle vet clinic because it was closer. There were no clients there but the vet wouldn't come out to see us and told us via his receptionist to go back to our own vet which was miles from where we were. We knew she wasn't going to make it. I asked if we could see the vet and she said, 'no, he said to go back to your own vet.' He didn't refer me to Bowmanville - which was a few kms from where we were. If not bordering on criminal then certainly immoral and disgusting. Enough of the nasty stuff. The Bowmanville Clinic took time, they explained everything, got her stabilized for travel so I could get her safely back to TO. There are indeed angels on this earth and they are at the Bowmanville Vet Clinic.

Brought my African Grey to the clinic for the first time on recommendation from a friend. The vet was very knowledgeable, they gave me a folder full of info on birds, answered all my questions and never rushed me. Really great visit :) I am so glad I found them.

Wow, i have been to a number of vet clinics in the area but i love thisclonoc it definetly has a different feel to it. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. They offer what they feel is best for your pet and then let you make an informed decison. Would and have recommended this clinic.

I asked around at the Oshawa Leash Free Park for vet suggestions and the Bowmanville Clinic was mentioned more than any other. My only problem with this clinic is the constant sales pressure. You speak with several people before you actually see the vet and each person is trying to sell you something (pet insurance etc). I will be looking for a new vet in the future

Had my first visit at Bowmanville Vet Clinic after being referred by a friend. My expectations were high and they did not diappoint. The staff (and there were a lot of them) were all friendly, informative and spent so much time with me. I also got a nice puppy kit full of information. Great experience and great value for the money. Looking forward to my next visit.

Staff are friendly and all are very competent. They provide all options for my pet but they are costly. However you do get value for the money.

I love these guys. They know ALL of their stuff, and if they don't - they will research forever until they figure it out! I've had nothing but good experiences with Bowmanville vet clinic. The only thing I will say is that you pay A LOT to go there. I also find that because they are so up-to-date with medicine and vaccines that they push really hard to get you to give your pet everything. I found that they made me feel guilty when I opted not to get my dog spayed. They told me that the OSPCA doesn't give them pain medication to go home, and that the process was very different. I called the OSPCA and they DO send home 2 days of medicine, on top of the 48 hour pain injection. I was rather upset when I found this out. However, the staff is lovely and always remembers my pet's name. I love Laurie and Patty as receptionists. They are the best!

Staff is very competent, warm and caring.. TOO caring. They have too many people trying to sell fancy food and tooth brushing etc, making one feel guilty if they just want shots. I found them very costly.

Although I loved most of the staff, the prices are truly outrageous at times. I often also felt as though if you did not agree to do all components of the annual (fecal, wellness, urine, etc) that you were made to feel like a neglecting pet owner. I do however still have great faith in the staff's knowledge and do still think highly of the clinic - I just personally do not like to feel pressured into doing everything, and paying quite the mark up on it. I never had a poor experience there, and they were very helpful with all of my pets. Although I will likely never return with a cat, dog, or "pocket pet" since I have found myself at a great clinic now, I would go back to them if I were to ever get another reptile or bird.
