Dr Hume is great at this clinic but their front desk staff, mainly Cindy, is very abrasive, rude and always makes things difficult in booking appointments. If you have an urgent situation she won't book you with an alternative vet at the same clinic. She never has a concern to accomm odate the pets needs. We are the advocates for our pets so when an urgent situation arises you are better off trying a different clinic. This has not only happened to us once but several times at this clinic. I will not be returning here as when my pets need to see the vet it's usually something I consider very important. A receptionist that shows no emotion or consideration towards your pets shouldn't be working in this industry.

SUPERB vet clinic. We have a dog and 2 cats, all under their care. We have received top quality service on every visit. We often phone and get advice over the phone with questions. Staff always helps us with pros and cons regarding any pet health decision we must make. I hear many complaints about vet prices in Penticton, Dr Hume has very reasonable rates. She often follows up personally, calling us herself with test results. Never rushes an appointment. If you're seeking a vet in the area, give them a try!

The staff have always been courteous knowledgeable and friendly. We have even received a few supportive follow up phone calls during our pets recent recovery period. Dr Barrie Hume has a sincerely caring, unhurried and empathetic nature. She is extremely receptive to our pets body language before and during the medical diagnosis at which she is extremely capable. Here are good old fashioned values where it is not all about the money! That is the reason we drive right past all the well reviewed veterinarians in Penticton (learned from those mistakes) for our 3 hour return trip back home. Yes, they are that worth it! We are grateful to have discovered the Summerland Animal Clinic.
