The best vets there were Dr. McCarthy, who retired, and Dr. McConkey, also retired. We used that clinic for years, always with those two, although later we started to use J. Pytka - who is a good surgeon, but not my favourite at all, I find she's in too much of a hurry to put animals down. She also badly misled us over testing our 2 cats, and we ended up finding out what was actually wrong at another clinic, so we didn't go back. Pytka has gone to Big Rock in Okotoks, and based on that, I don't think I'd go there, she really screwed us up. Now we've got a sick cat, had what we thought was a hairball, called McLeod during lockdown, we were talking to a vet about it, and she dismissed it as a hairball, did NOT mention the worst case scenario, said re cat hiding in the basement wasn't an issue, just typical behaviour. Called Fish Creek, said bring him in immediately, a medical emergency - a blocked urethra. I find that inexcusable that we weren't alerted about a common, dangerous issue.

Dr. Pytka was the absolute best but she is gone and if anyone can tell me where she is, I would really appreciate it.

I have nothing bad to say about this clinic. Always refer friends. My yelp post today, "Today was a sad day, i had to put down my 16 yr. old dog. I passed on my appreciation for the quality service they provided over the past 12 years. They care about what they do, professional and today compassionate. Not driven by the dollar, rates are fair, and don't look to ding you for every little thing."

I wish they were bigger, great people deserve a better facility. Dr. Pytka has been amazing with my pup and cat! The front staff girls always know who we are and are extremly supportive!

I was referred by a friend who has been going to Dr. Sam McConkey for years. Since it was our first visit, he spent a long time in the reception area, just getting to know my dog, making a big fuss over her before going to the treatment room. In addition to needing her regular vaccines, she had a minor skin condition problem that was puzzling and he prescribed a simple treatment and asked that we come back in 10 days for a re-check, which we did. Dr. Sam visited with us in reception again, fussed and played with my girl, pronounced her very healthy (which she is). I was pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable cost for these services, and especially when there was no charge for the re-check. The staff I met were competent and friendly, and clearly all love animals. I would certainly recommend this vet clinic.

We have brought our cats to dr. O'Brian for about 5 years and have been very pleased with her. She is professional and thorough and always answers all of our questions. She's quick to return phone calls. We love that she will phone to find out how our diabetic cat is doing. She goes above and beyond.

My weee dog has been a patient here for several years and has seen many of the vets. I find the staff kind and professional and the docs provide good and reasonable care.

We have been going to this vet clinic for 8 years now and have always received compassionate, professional,and knowledgeable care. Dr. Pytka is amazing! She saved my dog's life. The clinic is a bit older but it is clean and has great staff. Furthermore, I find the care bill much more reasonable than other clinics. The care is exceptional and there is no other vet clinic that I would choose to care for my 4 legged daughter.
