When I tried to communicate this with the her, she threatened to stop treating my cat and scared us by saying our cat will pass away (which was not true) if we take him to out of the hospital, it was 11 pm at night so I didn’t have much option but let her treat my cat with the most expensive treatment. The next day I took him to another vet and they confirmed his anxiety. I spend ridiculous amount of money on tests and the bluepearl doctor still couldn’t read the xrays or other test results correctly and came to a wrong diagnosis!!! Horrible money sucking place and absolutely rude doctors! They also mentioned the bluepearl doctor did not give my cat adequate amount of medical dosage per his body weight to calm his anxiety. I am extremely disappointed in Bluepearl and will never recommend this place to my friends and family. It is clearly a for-profit RID: 69679
Click to report rating    9/15/17   5     5     2     1   For basic diagnostics (X-ray), and 1 day of stay/antibiotics (for a tiny pug), they charged me $3,300! Would not perform treatment or release my dog to me before I paid the full amount. Not right! RID: 64643

Click to report rating    6/21/15   1     1     1     1   Blue Pearl (name change with an added “LLC” which you have to wonder about), killed my sweet dog with dangerous combination of medications after they realized that they misdiagnosed and botched surgery. They falsified & deleted medical records and forms & delayed a State Board investigation by not providing accurate medical records within legal time frame. They tormented and killed a beautiful little being that had so much life until they got their filthy hands on him when he had so much more to live. Our hearts are shattered. Horrible place that does not care about animals but only about money & permitting their unskilled interns to “practice” on your animals, getting their PR Dept. to make them look good and their lawyers to bail them out. They have a terrible reputation and others have posted horror stories about similar experiences. RID: 57491

Click to report rating    1/13/13   5     5     4     5   I have no complaints with Bluepearl. 1 specific doc terrible - Dr Mark Levy, who we met in FL, he has since moved to this facility. In a few words he was a freaking disaster & caused my dog, my wife & I 10 weeks of unnecessary hell. Our dog had a total left hip replacement performed by Dr Levy. Multiple times during postop course we informed Dr Levy of concerns & that we believed our dog was having problems (& thus that there might be an issue with surgical sight) he minimized our concerns. We called & saw him multiple times during the postop period. At 10 weeks postop our dog developed excruciating pain & could not be made comfortable, we brought him back to the facility where x-ray demonstrated the cup in the hip had moved. Later we found out that not only had the cup moved, but the joint had subluxed, two major complications. By this time Dr Levy had moved to NY. He never told us he was leaving FL, and there was no vet at the facility in FL capable of dealing with the complicatio RID: 39593
Click to report rating    12/15/12   1     5     1     1   Michael, one of the manager, is a condescending person I've ever met. My husband and I spent nearly 4 hours there. We were stressed out. Woman at the reception gave me a bill that made no sense. First, she asked us if we paid $604 bill from 2 days ago. How is it possible she didn't know? Then there were extra items in the bill and she couldn't explain. After going back and forth, finally a man, Michael, came out from the back office and looked at the bill. He looked at the bill and couldn't explain either. He said he didn't charge for Xray but it was listed in the bill. Finally he basically said "this is the bill. You just need to pay up". When we demanded explanations, he said he would call the police. There was woman listening to this whole thing and said "I think his name is Michael. I also had a terrible experience with him". I just wanted to get the hell out of there at that point. How heartless is this place? I am never going there again. RID: 39081
11/30/12   1     1     1     1   Diagnosed fiance's cat with cancer. AFTER AMPUTATION, THEY FOUND OUT SHE WAS MISDIAGNOSED. http://www.justiceforcharlotte.blogsp... Ran tests prior, did ct scans, followed the advice of NYC Veterinary Specialists/ Blue Pearl Nyc Dr. Jennifer Huck and Dr. Joshua Lachowicz DVM. When the histopathoIogy report was done on her leg afterwards it was found out that the mass was in fact BENIGN. CAT'S LEG WAS AMPUTATED UNNECESSARILY. The diagnosis and advice which was given, combined with the actions of the doctors at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners resulted in an UNNECESSARY limb amputation. RID: 38791
Click to report rating    10/14/12   1     1     1     1   I have never met such money hungry, incompetent doctors in my entire life who are able to lie to your face. If I hadn't brought my cat to these money hungry ****s she would've still been here. Dr. Steven Levy is a cold hearted individual who will tell you what you want to hear and step out of the operating room while your animal is critical and on the operating table and expect you to make a decision about euthanizing your beloved animal in less than 5 minutes. An individual like this shouldn't even have the privilege of having the title of DVM. I was specifically referred here due to the fact that my cat may have needed a blood transfusion which she wasn't given hence the fact why she passed. If you care about your animals and consider them to be a part of your family do not subject them to such negligent care. I've never met a vet who hasn't cared about an animal as of course is required by someone who takes on this profession. RID: 37815
Click to report rating    6/22/12   1     2     1     1   My dog died 2 weeks after thyroid cancer operation here. Blunders: CT scan showed evidence of cancer spread & too large size (i.e. op should not have taken place); I wasn't told this & OKd procedure. During op essential gland was removed "inadvertantly". Learned her survival rate less than 50/50, nil if calcium level didn't rise to normal-never did. Kept in ICU six days. No treatment plan, no cost estimate, no prognosis. Went to visit my pet & NO doc present in ICU. Stroke, staph infection, kennel cough, doped up with ProMace, blind. Discharged abruptly; she lasted 7 days at home -another stroke, seizures, systems decline & failure due to calcium deficiency-"hypocalcemia"- result of botched operation. Put her down to release her from suffering; worst experience of my life. Paid $6700; refuse to pay $8000 ICU charges not discussed or agreed to. Can't recommend BP Vet: substandard care, cold personel, broke their own rules & AVMA ethics. Clearly malpractice but there's no recourse. RID: 35147
