Receptionists are lovely. Vets are not. Abrupt, rude, and difficult. Do not listen. Refuse to accept out of country vaccination records. Take your business elsewhere.

The Westheights hospital in Kitchner Ontario, is beyond amazing. The staff is really experienced and understands the needs of a dog. We own a large German Shepherd and the staff at this hospital knows exactly how to handle him. The prices are low as well, and the service is perfect as well. Highly recommend Westheights!

Vet is abrupt and borderline rude. Does not listen to your concerns. Does not appear to even like animals. Noted staff smoking immediately outside clinic and throwing butt on the ground I hope they wash their hands. Had people question me outside of clinic -saying that they know people that wouldn't consider taking their pet there. I won't be going back. Willing to drive further to receive appropriate service. Suggestions would include having the vet work on his professionalism, allow client to remain in room with pet during examination instead of taking to another room, Note even reception was sympathetic to my concerns. I am guessing she has heard complaints repeatedly.

Took a kitten I had just adopted for her first set of shots. The vet seemed like he'd never dealt with an animal before. Right away he took a flea comb out and told me she had fleas, after barely if actually touching her.. then he smoothed a bug on the table saying "see". He gave her the treatment without me confirming when everything I've seen that is topical is for 12weeks + . He tried to give her the vaccine but she jumped and he told me to back up and was very rough with the needle. She cried quite loudly. Obviously I paid for the flea treatment and the worm medication (suggested when fleas are found) as well, only to find out that she didn't and doesn't have fleas? Was I just scammed out of 40+$?! Seems like. Would NOT recommend!

These are the points that were in a complaint letter that I wrote after my dog was spayed
1.surgical adhesive (ie. “skin glue”) instead of sutures. You may as well go to a spay/neuter clinic and save some money if that's the quality that you want.
2.We were told that the receptionist needed to “go to the back to put her e-collar on.” Based on this statement, I have to assume that my dog was left unattended in a run for hours with access to her incision site.
3. We had booked for surgery with one vet and were given a completely different veterinarian (that we had never met)
4. Open 7 days, yet a follow up call took 3 days to happen. Every clinic that I have worked for would have insisted on a follow up call the day after surgery.
I sincerely believe that my dogs spay was a rushed job, and that there was no concern for her well being.

We had our puppy spayed here and had her dew claws removed. The price was great, hours were great and service was great. They were on time, answered all our questions, gave us advice and explained all the choices thoroughly. The girls at the counter were friendly and knowledgeable and the place was perfectly clean. I would definitely recommend it. Reading the other reviews, one reviewer on 7/25/13 was obviously racist and should be removed, and the other seems like one of these people who think they know more than the vet! This place is good, we have no kids, the dog is like our child and if there were any issues I would list them. There were no issues, our pup had no complications, healed very quickly and we are fully satisfied.

Receptionist is always friendly and informative, doesn't make me feel uncomfortable/stupid for asking questions. Facilities are always clean. Dr. Sharma is very friendly and gentle with my two cats, I was very surprised to see them both behave while being examined despite one of them being rather shy when meeting new people! I usually book early morning weekend appointments and there is never any wait, we are always checked in promptly. Prices here are extremely reasonable, highly recommend this place!

I have 15 cats on a farm - some house cats and the rest are barn cats. I am so happy I found this clinic in 2013. I have had many vets - large animal and small. Westheights has been extremely helpful with the various emergencies or illnesses the cats have had. I have dealt with Dr. Vandal most of the time. He is very good with the cats and at explaining to me all the issues or concerns and alternatives for treatment. Both vets are very thorough. Dr. Vandal lets me know options and cost comparisons. Liquids vrs pills, etc. The clinic is open 7 days a week which is great for my busy schedule and the situations that come up. The staff try very hard to set appointments that work for me. Most of the cats are vaccinated and fixed now. The staff are very friendly and seem to really care about the pets. They know many of mine by name! They always call to follow-up on how they are doing. The office is clean and recently painted and updated. I feel their prices are very fair. Highly recommend.

Took my two kittens into get vaccinated and examined. Receptionist/Vet tech was very sweet and friendly. Dr. Sharma was also very good, handled my kittens just fine. My one cat hated getting examined but Dr. Sharma was very patient. My other cat loved the attention so had no problems. Definitely will go again!

I took my dog there for the first time, the vet was short with us, very rude, insisted that my very scared puppy needed to be restrained to be examined. When we told the vet that we had only just adopted him, he refused to listen and instead told us we didn't get him back on time for his second vaccine. He also insisted on taking the puppy to another room to vaccinate him away from us. When the puppy returned to us, the vet put him on the floor beside me, where my puppy ran in circles and continued to yelp. What had the vet done to him??? I would NEVER go back to this vet and I would highly recommend anyone else to find another vet who has more people skills. He didn't examine the dog, or take more than 5 minutes with us to discuss any concerns. The other staff was also very rude and short with us. Found this to be unacceptable!!! They seemed more interested in the other people sitting in the waiting room than us in the exam room. the off ice was very dirty!

I drive more than 5 kms to visit this clinic. Everyone who works at Westheights loves pets. This is one of the best clinics in Kitchener. Very compassionate and reasonably priced clinic.

This man shouldn't be allowed to deal with people, let alone animals. Was rude, insulting, almost demanded unnecessary procedures. Things that have nothing to do with the issue my dog was experiencing. Ignored the symptoms I told him about, rushing me like everything I said was ridiculous. My dog eats raw food and has very firm movements, there is no need for anal gland expelling, which he insisted thrice. It ended confrontational, with both of us all but yelling.Find a good pet store that focuses on health and they'll help more. Resist the temptation to go see him because he's open more hours than most. Better to go to emergency clinic.

Terrible experience, walked out before I would let the Indian start hacking away on my dogs stomach, terribly rude. Dirty office, could barely speak English and raised his voice at me telling me he would not give my dog his vaccinations with out surgery. Strongly recommend going to any Kitchener vet hospital other then the one located at Westheights and driftwood

I took my 13 year old cat Princess to Westheights Veterinary Hospital on a recommendation from a friend and I am happy that I did. I found out that my cat has kidney disease and teeth issues. She has been successfully being treated for the kidney disease and has had oral surgery to remove some teeth. Doctors and her staff are amazing in their knowledge and compassionate care. The prices for their services are very reasonable. Overall wonderful experience.

Excellent, Finally Kitchener has a clinic that provide excellent care to the pets with very reasonable prices. They did tooth removal on my dog for $ 350 , other places quoted me from 1200-1500 !

If you want low cost veterinary medicine than this is the clinic for you. I prefer more personal touches and a warmer, friendlier environment. I was not happy the way my pet was treated. I will not return. You get what you pay for.
