Defensive, cold, nasty women on the phone. Ridiculous prices and non refundable deposits required. This place is horrible. I cancelled nearly three weeks before my appointment due to new findings in my dogs condition. They wouldn't give me back $750 I had to pay to secure an appointment. Furthermore, the vet never once phoned to discuss my dog at all. I was going to drive 11 hours to come here based on what I say online and Facebook. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

Dr Rocheleau and his amazing team at the Espanola Animal Hospital saved my precious Mollys life and treated and cared for her as if she was their own. They did an emergency operation to remove her spleen and a massive tumor. The Dr is very direct, straight and to the point and knows exactly what he is talking about. Some may not like this type of personality but we appreciate it. He and his staff obviously care for the animals more than most and the facility is top notch. For the expertise and care your pet receives, their prices are more than fair and are actually much less than I would figure they would be. We will forever be indebted to them and struggle to find the words to express how thankful we are for their skill and care and for giving us the priceless gift of more time with my baby girl

Left at 530 ,drove in a snow storm,for 3 hours on hyway 144,from timmins to Chemeford,they refused to see my dog,because I was 20 minutes late,,that said,they have no compassion,my poor dog ,not sure what my next step is,but I will find one,,,

From what I've read in the comments. A lot of ppl agree that this hospital is useless. They don't take emergencies and refer you to Sudbury. Their staff are extremely disrespectful. And not fully staffed. Don't bother bringing your animal there. Even if they're dying. They will turn you away because there's only 1 person there working. And They only do surgeries on bones. So if your animal is dying. You aren't going to get help from this place. Wish I could do the same if they came at the hospital I work at. Fortunately for them, we don't turn anyone away. This is honestly the worst place I've ever dealt with. Useless. Either staff properly or don't call yourself a hospital if you pick and choose your patients. Extremely rude. Get out of here. Honestly Useless.

If I knew a week ago what I know now and after reading many reviews, my dog would still be alive. My dog was an experiment to this vet. A stroke of his ego if she survived. I don’t recommend this vet!!

I am not a customer of this particular vet but what disgusted me was his commercials that started off with a dog crying in pain. That was just sick! Just for that reason I would never go to him.

As a rescuer and volunteer with a local rescue, I have seen numerous pets treated with extreme care, limb-sparing surgeries and the most innovative procedures available to dogs and cats at this hospital. They really do have your pets' best interests at heart. Dr. Rocheleau and his staff go to great lengths to learn new techniques. They work with the best orthopedic surgeons & mentors in the world to bring state-of-the-art procedures to our area. Highly recommended care at a very affordable price comparably.

My pups & I are happy coming here. All of the staff members are friendly to both me and my pets. The facilities are good. The building is nice, and the OR looks organized and clean based on the glimpses I've seen when nobody was in there. I think it's pretty great they have a CT, 3D printer, and rehab facility all within the building. I rated a 4 rather than 5 for punctuality because my last appointment was pushed back 20 mins because I guess the vet just returned from giving presentations in Europe and they were behind. Normally he is on time, but sometimes there can be a short wait. The Monetary Value is really good. One of my pups had a surgery on one leg in Toronto, and had the exact same thing done here on the other leg. I was charged nearly 3x as much in Toronto, and the surgeon here actually had to do a revision surgery to fix the Toronto surgeon's mistakes. Needless to say, I will keep coming here.

Please please please do yourself and your pet’s a favour and go to Walden animal hospital in lively.!!!! I have heard so many negative things about PJ Rochealua (from his staff and former staff, as well as a lot of people in the community that have dealt with him) that you will regret ever doing business with him. I had to report him to CVO (college of veterans of Ontario) because of the horrible dealings we’ve had with this person. I know other people that have reported him also.

I found the vet very condescending and egotistical. Went in for a 20 min. consult. We were there for 3 hrs listening to the vet prattle on about ho smart he thinks he is. Told us how much the operation was and what was covered. Operated on Monday, my dog was dead the following Sunday from infection (septic). No after-care given, no partial refund given. There are extenuating circumstances to the infection, but again, no proper after-care. My opinion is the vet is in it for the money and the ego boost. He only cares about his successes, the others are forgotten.

Unreal I called ahead of time and had my dogs file sent over as I had already ran multiple tests and no one could tell me why my dogs tongue was paralyzed. I asked if he thought he could do anything before with this case before I made the hour trip to his office. Money grab us all this guy isabout. Cost me 1500 for no answers once again. He ran a CT scan which told us nothing. He tells us I’m a north vet that’s my specialty come back when your ready for a hip replacement, which is another separate issue that we were dealing with. Obviously the tongue issue and my dog joy being able to eat or drink was my first concern. All this guy was concerned with was showing me his “cool toys” 3D printer for ortho use. My poor dog was screaming in the back when he woke up. They tried to hand my dog off to me with the catheter still in. My dog yelled and screamed for about 10 minutes . He was sore and couldn’t move for days afterwards. Don’t waste your money on this guy, he has no idea what he’s doi

had consult about stem cell rejuvination and advised my dog had cushings disease. The Vet asked how I knew she had cushings. Advised my vet told me. He asked what tests- I did not know exactly as they took her into a room to do the testing. He said he liked to do his own testing & then said this dog 110% does NOT have Cushings we can do the surgery ($1800) a couple of months later she started developing all of the symptons of Cushings - increased thirst, pot belly, sores on body - she started pooping orange and vomiting - brought her in - kept her for a week and didn't really do anything except produce a huge bill and sent her home with hundreds of dollars of pills. There are 3 types of Cushings: adrenal, pituitary & veterinary interference. He knew she had Cushings but wanted to make money. I asked for her records and they said they would email them but didnt, called and was told they were destroyed because dog was deceased. Most upsetting thing ever experienced

Our dog Abigail has had surgery three times on her hind legs. Dr. Roucheleau spent a great deal of time with us before and after her surgeries. He answered all of our concerns. He was knowledgeable and friendly, a true professional. We also took part in the tele-rehab program with Lydia. She explained everything in such a way that a non- professional such as myself had no problems doing the rehab with my dog. I cannot thank Dr.Rocheleau, Lydia and the rest of the staff enough for the help and care Abigail received and I would certainly recommend them to others.

Dr. Rocheleau was very thorough and easy to talk to during our consultation. The staff there seem very sensitive and caring, they treated us and our pups with respect and kindness. In our opinion its well worth the drive in to Espanola from Spanish. Thanks again for the great service!

Dr. Rocheleau treated my dog Rylee in 2015 for discospondylitis. She was paralyzed from the waist down and he diagnosed her within minutes of seeing her. Flash forward to April 2017 and he provided her with life changing spinal surgery (multi level hemilaminectomy). We were able to treat our dog close to home, by someone we trust and at a fraction of the cost that you would pay down south. This has been such a stress relief for our family. Two weeks post-op and she's wagging her tail wider than ever before and walking like normal. We are forever grateful for Espanola Animal Hospital!

My wife Nancy and I brought our german sheppard in because of a large growth we found on his paw. We ended up having the growth removed and thankfully it hasn't come back. Great staff and service. - Donald G

I never thought it would happen to me, but my dog was hit by a car after I made the mistake of letting her off leash to do her business. Heartbreaking. My vet referred me to Espanola Animal Hospital so that Mila could have her broken leg fixed. This was such a stressful experience, never dreamed I'd be in this situation but Espanola seemed well equipped for me and Mila and like they handle this situation all the time. They were so good about helping me secure financing and Mila was all fixed up that same evening and I took her home the next morning. I was a mess and they took it all in stride. I even have pet insurance now, so if anything bad ever happens again, I'm covered! I'm so glad my vet sent me here. They really do care. It shows. I could feel it.

We have been clients for the past five years and I don't often take the time to leave feedback, but the service I receive at the Espanola Animal Hospital is outstanding! I will be continuing my business with PJ and the staff indefinitely. They have the latest medical equipment; some of which is exclusive to Northern Ontario! I couldn't think of a better place for my two dogs Duke and Ellie to be treated.

PJ is a complete narcissist and knows better then every other vet/ research article. He acts like he is knowledgeable but is truly incompetent and has some of the highest rates of postoperative infections and complications than any other referral hospital. He will prolong your animals suffering unnecessarily for an extra dime. He is constantly bad talking previous clients, if you have any complication with surgery it will be your fault not his. He treats his staff like garbage and is a horrible human being. If you care about your pet, spend the extra money and head to Guelph you wont regret it!

I have been to many clinics with my animals, I had an excellent experience right from the front office staff to the doctor seeing my pets. I felt that they really cares and feel the same as I do that my pets are family members not just animals. If you really want a caring place to bring your pets I highly recommend this one.

Dr. Rocheleau and his staff work extremely hard to provide the ultimate care for each and every patient. The staff members are very friendly and welcoming to all clients, as they treat every patient like their own. They will stop at nothing to help all patients and referrals. With top notch service and exponential knowledge, I've never met such compassionate and professional people at the Espanola Animal Hospital.

You cannot best the service at the Espanola Animal Hospital in my opinion. Dr Rocheleau and Dr Multani are smart, caring individuals who work tirelessly to help all of their patients and referrals. They offer very co competitive pricing regardless of what other reviews here claim and they offer a 247 emergency services phone number for all their clients...EAH is a top notch facility!!

I ended up with probably the most unhealthy,crippled(yet happy) dog possible.One knee operated on in Ottawa,then a couple years later,the other knee done right here by Dr.Rocheleau.VERY complex ortho surgeries.Nothing against the Ottawa job and service,but I`ve got to say,Dr.Rocheleau`s job simply seems better.And every other thing that can go wrong with a dog has gone wrong on mine,yet Dr.Rocheleau AND STAFF,have been there 24/7 for us,holidays included in case of emerg.People complain that it`s expensive .Perhaps,i wouldn`t know,because you get what you pay for and you pay for what you get.And I`m VERY pleased with everyone when I walk through those doors with that medical mess that is my doggie :)So we don`t drive winter highways to possibly save a buck.We just stay here and go up the street to the best care available.

I brought my 7 year old cat the Dr. Pj for crystals in his urine, I was told that the cost was going to be $1500 upfront and that was just for the removal of the crystals, it did not include the exam. We would have spent a wopping $2000 on the cat in the end. So instead we took him to the island where the lady worked with us on price because we did not have that kind of money. In the end including new food from the vet, our bill was under $700. Now you tell me who cares more about money or the animals. Pj is rude and arrogant, go to the island if you need a vet because the cost in gas outweighs the cost of his animal hospital.

Go to Sudbury, the Manitoulin, or anywhere else. PJ is horrible and should not be allowed to take care of animals. He doesn't actually care about animals and refuses urgent care frequently. You've been warned.

This clinic is WAY over priced....then I was told they wouldn't see my dog anymore since he wasn't neutered. But, they would neuter him for $500. Today's visit cost me $296 dollars. WOW....

If you want to be harassed and bullied into prolonging your animal's life even though it is suffering, unable to function on its own accord...this is the place to go. They won't put anything down and if you don't treat how they want or see fit, they call the SPCA and report you.

Dog had ear/skin infection, and I felt the vet did not take the time to examine the ear and skin properly before prescribing expensive meds.
