This is not a proper vet. This guy cares about animals? On my first visit my dog didn't receive a diagnosis of any kind and I wasn't given any direction to manage his symptoms. I was told this would happen after tests were performed. I was told to do $400 worth of blood work which I did. The results came back normal but he advised me to do my X-Rays even though I had them and they were recent. I sent updated X-rays to the doctor who said he would followup. He never did. My dog is now disoriented, barely walking properly. I recently advised the doctor of this and instead of being told to come in for him to see the dog I was advised to pick up random test kits??? My dog needs to be examined!!!! This vet wants me to shell out money so he can run high commission diagnostics while my dog suffers. He never even explained what this next test is looking for. I've never spent this type of money at the vet to have such a low quality experience. This is disgusting.

I would highly recommend this clinic. The staff was amazing and very friendly. Dr.Watts always takes my dog in on time and is very approachable when I have questions about my dog. Dr.Watts always explains what he is doing to my dog and why which helps us understand what is happening to our dog. Overall the clinic and it's staff are amazing and both my dog and I are always happy to go back.

Dr. Watts is highly knowledgeable and was quick to figure out what needed to be done when i brought my dog in. I was so scared as i had no idea why my dog was acting strange but Dr.Watts and his team ensured that it was nothing bad and helped keep me calm. Being a new dog owner, Dr.Watts went above and beyond what i was expecting, making my dog feel like home. His level of professionalism is unreal and i can definitely recommend anyone in the area to have a visit! My dog loves seeing Dr.Watts, which makes the visiting the vet so much easier!!

I am giving Dr. Watts and his team the best, all star rating because I honestly don't know what I would have done without this clinic in my life the past 3 months. I brought my dog, Rosie in for what I thought was worsening arthritis. In the interest of being thorough, Dr. Watts discovered a huge tumor in her abdomin, which the previous clinic had failed to detect. Dr. Watts and staff went above and beyond to help me give Rosie the best end of life care I possibly could. Dr. Watts is brilliantly scientific in his approach, plus he has a huge heart for animals. The perfect combination in a veterinarian. Staff are lovely too. Don't hesitate to take your pet here! Cheryl Kaunismaa

We are extremely impressed with the quality of service by Dr. Watts and the staff. The love for the patients always stands out. Dr. Watts is the first doctor we have taken our dog to who has been able to find the cause of his allergies and get them under control. Dr. Watts is approachable and always willing to explain the medical needs of our pet thoroughly. We never feel rushed. Whether it is a routine visit or an emergency, Dr. Watts always goes above and beyond our expectations. Dr. Watts and his staff always remember who you are, who the patient is and what issues the patient has. The facility is always clean and well organized. It is because of my extreme satisfaction in the Highland Creek Animal Clinic that I have recommended them to so many of my friends and neighbours.

Dr. Watts is an excellent vet and I recommend Highland Creek clinic very highly. I have brought multiple cats to Dr. Watts over the last two years for a variety of reasons including dental cleanings & surgeries and regular visits for a cat with renal failure. He even recently treated a stray I'd found with a severely wounded leg for weeks. Dr. Watts is knowledgeable, caring, attentive and always has time to address my concerns and answer my questions. I can always get an appointment when I need one and I feel comfortable there.

Dr.Watts is nothing short of an amazing vet. We've been bringing our German Shepherd here since she was a puppy, and we can't say enough about how thorough and passionate the team is. There is no doubt she receives the best care, whether it's just getting her vaccinations or having a surgery done. Dr.Watts is endlessly patient, descriptive, and puts 100% in what he does, taking the time to double-check everything and talking us through the procedures. This clinic truly cares about our pet - which explains why she absolutely loves visiting. We cannot say a big enough thank you!

Excellent clinic. Dr. Watts is a very kind person and wonderful with animals. His staff is very friendly and polite. I would not take my abyssinian cat anywhere else. His staff always calls the day before as a reminder of an appointment - which is very helpful. I would very highly recommend them to anyone who cares for their pet! You never have to wait at this clinic and Dr. Watts is always happy to answer any questions or concerns over the phone.

What first attracted me to Dr. Watts services were his ability to attend my dog's needs without anesthetizing him - whereas other vets had been unable to manage the large animal. That was a couple of years back. His management of my three dogs since has confirmed the fact he really knows his business and provides excellent service at fair and reasonable rates. Sidney Ledson

I am very glad to be a client of Dr. Watts. He greets my dog with great enthusiasm. He is knowledgeable and thorough. He explained everything to me and told me about all the options. I have been to other clinics where I felt rushed through the appointment straight to the visa machine. At Highland Creek Dr. Watts was patient and took time to make sure I was comfortable with the decisions I made. I highly recommend Dr. Watts and his great staff.

Dr. Watts and the staff at Highland Creek Animal Clinic are amazing. My 10-year-old Cockapoo as well as my year old Victorian Bulldog have been going there for years (my puppy since 3 months old). My bulldog RUNS to the clinic as soon as we get in the parking lot. Dr. Watts is incredibly knowledgable and I never feel rushed or misinformed. When doing surgical procedures or blood work, the clinic boards my animals at no extra charge, until I am able to pick them up after work. Phoebe my bulldog plays with Dr. Watts every time we are there. The staff are so friendly and accommodating with appointments (if we are running late or need to reschedule). I think the most important thing is how much they care. Phoebe developed a virus at 6 months old and it lasted 12 weeks. Dr. Watts monitored it for us at no charge. He encourages you to stop in and say hello and he truly means it. I don't think I could find better service. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!

As for all the other categories Iwouldn't know becasue I could not get past the idiot staff. I had an appointment that I was running late for so I had not stopped at the bank for cash to pay for the visit. As I did not know how much the visit was going to be I was going to wait until the visit was over at which time my adult daughter was going to go to the bank and get the money while I waited at the vet with the dog. The staff appeared to have english as a first language but seemed to think I was asking for a free visit or that I was going to leave with the dog and then come back to pay. I was dumbfounded. No matter how many times I explained I was there for my appointment that I was PAYING for they did not grasp that I wanted nothing more from them. Too bad between myself and my adult children we have 10 pets and this clinic just lost our business. The doctor wouldn't even come out of the basement to see but left me with the brainless twits at the counter. THUMBS DOWN!

I, like Mojo's parents have been fostering animals for years as well as doing specifically Bull Terrier Rescue for the last 5. Highland Creek Animal Clinic is the absolute best clinic that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with and there have been many. I deal with "special needs" as well and no other clinic in Toronto or surrounding area would even know about a certain condition that a Bull Terrier can be born with but Dr. Watts has and still does go above and beyond to help me maintain a good and comfortable life for these special little ones. Every one of my dogs absolutely loves going to see the Dr and his staff, why my Frankie even had a sprained tail after his yearly checkup as he wouldn't stop wagging it. I have been through the whole clinic myself and it is extremely clean and would not hesitate to board any of my animals there. I would recommend and do recommend this clinic to anyone without hesitation. The whole staff is wonderful, knowledgable and compassionate.

My Bullmastiff (Mojo) loves Dr.Watts and his team. She doesn't wag her tail for everyone, but she greets everyone who works at the clinic. Dr.Watts helped us through my Great Dane's nose cancer. He pegged exactly what would happen, when, and referred us to an excellent specialist.Dr.Watts went above and beyond to keep Shrek comfortable while in paliative care. We now drive an 1.15hrs to get to Highland Creek for our dog Mojo, and they always do their best to accomodate us. We know all the staff, and they are fantastic. We have found them more caring and empathetic than many clinics. And we've been to many clinics through the years, as we have fostered dogs and moved fairly often within Edmonton, & Southern Ontario. Dr.Watts has always taken time to explain what he is doing, why, and will follow-up with a phone call to see how our dog is doing. The clinic is lovely, clean, and has better air quality than most. And I have seen the entire clinic. Even our 3yr old child feels special there.

PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS ANIMAL CLINIC!!! DR. WATTS DOES NOT EMPLOY A REGISTERED VETERINARY ASSISTANT!!! If you don't believe me, check for yourself at oavt.org. Ask yourself what that says about Dr. Watts. I was not impressed when the TEEN receptionist went off to assist the doctor with my pet's care while I was in the waiting area. AND it was extremely distressing to listen to a cat wailing somewhere in the basement/dungeon boarding area the entire hour I was there, and to see no one going to check on the animal when I inquired as to why the cat was wailing non-stop. The teen receptionist replied "Oh, he's fine, he's a boarder". A wailing, boarded animal is FINE?! I was the only client there so it wasn't like they were too busy to check on the cat. PLEASE don't take your beloved pet to this clinic if you want pet care from amateurs and an overly dramatic, pushy salesman (yep, you even get the vet food sales pitch from Dr. Watts - sigh).

My two dogs are always eager to go and see Dr. Watts and his team (even if they get their ears cleaned which they do not enjoy, they are always happy to go back again the next time). Both of my dogs needed to be neutered and they are a breed that is more sensitive to anesthesia, making surgery riskier than for many other breeds. The breeder had said to be careful about choosing a vet for this reason (and I am very picky myself). Dr. Watts did a beautiful job of both surgeries.
Dr. Watts is always happy to share any relevant detailed information and experiences that he may have and is very genuine in accommodating anything that is in the best interests of his patients and careful in his research of products that he chooses to use in his practice. I often tell people how nice it is to actually enjoy going to the vet!

I cannot praise Dr. Watts and his team at Highland Creek Animal Clinic enough. Their knowledge of animals and the concern they show is outstanding and I could not ask for better veterinarian care. From routine check-ups, vaccinations, surgery and other random medical issues, they have always provided the best for my pet. Based on past experiences, I thought that dogs dreaded going to the vet’s office. My dog loves visits to the clinic so much, she gets excited when I say we are going to see the doctor. Dr. Watts and his professional staff always exceed my expectations and I know that they have our best interests at heart. Their personal service really makes the difference and I’m sure, if dogs could talk, she would say the same thing!
