Dr. Dunlap is the absolute best Vet I have ever taken my dog to. My dog actually loves going to see her. I have had dogs for many years and have been to many Vets but none as good and knowledgeable as Dr. Dunlap.

I have no problem with Dr. Dunlap, when you finally do get to talk to her she is wonderful. The problem is actually getting to talk to her. I waited with my sick cat for an 2 and a half hours for our last appointment. This to me is unacceptable. The best part? They charged me for an "extended" visit. I have no doubt that Dr. Dunlap is very knowledgeable but the fact that we have to wait so long to see her and it takes weeks for her to contact us with test results just makes it pointless to go to this vet.

Pros: Dr. Dunlap is amazing. She is a true veterinarian who is always updating and educating herself. She practices integrative (holistic and conventional) medicine and is not closed-minded. She is cautious and careful with what she prescribes and will take the time to explain everything to you. She truly cares . She is not like other vets that I have encountered who just seem to be pawns of pet food companies. Also, if it is an emergency she will take you right away and make time for you. Cons: The wait sucks. You will just have to put up with it. And because Dr. Dunlap is the only doctor in the practice she can be slow at getting back to you sometimes too. I also think the rooms could be a bit more sanitary and clean (there were dark brown spots on the physician table and hair all over the ground).

I was able to get an appointment on very short notice. I found Dr. Dunlop to be personable, open-minded, caring and easy to talk with. I felt included in the decision making process every step of the way. Highly recommend this clinic.

I moved to Surrey about six years ago and tried several different vets for my dogs and wasn't happy til I found Dr. Dunlap. One of my dogs had a serious allergy and her hair was coming out in handfuls. It was awful. After several vets telling me "yup, that's an allergy all right" with NO help at all, I found Dr. Dunlap. She listened. It's so obvious that she cares about animals. She did research, she found a ton of information for me, and eventually she fixed the problem. She calls in the evening with test results, she doesn't just force me to make another appointment. She never charges me for stuff we don't need. She does titers checks on the dogs before vaccinations. I love Dr. Dunlap, she's the best. I would recommend her to anyone who loves their pet and wants the best possible care for them even if you're not rich!

Now claiming to be "holistic" but they don't titre puppies? and always reach for traditional medicines first...not holistic in my books at all!

Okay, I had to wait a while for my appointment because an emergency case arrived just before my time. But that's why I quit my previous vet, they didn't do emergencies, just steered you to very expensive emergency clinics. My appointment was lengthy and comprehensive. The vet was a great listener. She nailed the diagnosis and her bill was only $56 (vs $1200 for the wrong diagnosis at an emergency clinic.) This is my new vet, but she's in Cloverdale now and kind of hard to find. Well worth the trip/effort.

Dr. Denise Dunlap and her vet lab technician have always been very knowledgeable and kind to us. Always willing to spend extra time answering questions about special care or treatment options, and never talking down to me like some vets tend to do. She may come off as blunt to some, but she doesn't sugar-coat anything and try to baby owners. Dr. Dunlap once spent 8 hours straight in emergency surgery with my dog to save his life, he made a full recovery and healed wonderfully. She even took extra time to look into the cause for us, including tests on his bladder stones at no charge to us. She helped us give our elderly diabetic cat the best care possible and made sure we knew the most recent research on diabetes treatments, phoning to keep us updated when she found something new. She really cares about keeping up with advances in the veterinary medicine field. The clinic tends to be very busy, which can often mean longer waits, but Dr. Dunlap always gives the animals thorough care.

Excellent vet, but the staff turnover is very high. She does not treat them very well.

I can't beleive the staff turn over at this place. My dog was in there weekly for a year and there was a new girl every other week. I was in there one day and the way she was yelling at her staff was disgraceful. I haven't been back since. I just can't respect someone who treats people that way. As for the care of my dog...well he's dead.
