Very pleased with all the vets and vet techs. my only issue is with reception. the one brunette girl, kira? i think thats her name but she really needs to improve her attitude and customer service, everytime i see her she feels very cold, ive seen her on her cell phone more than anyone else. there are a few other front staff girls that also just dont seem very approachable or compassionate. on a good note, the veterinarians here are phenomenal and they have really helped me out multiple times. i will continue to come here but i really hope the front staff gets trained on customer service.

This place is strictly in it for the money. I had a terminally ill dog that they thought they would capitalize on my grief. They quoted me 2000.00 for a surgery that I managed to get done in Grand forks at kettle river veterinary
for 770.00. I strongly recommend shopping around, don't expect any compassion for your pet, they only care about money and how much of it they can get off you in your moment of desperation.

I have been going to Rutland Pet Hospital for many years, in the old 33 location and the present location. Absolutely outstanding Pet Hospital from knowledge, kindness, care, pricing, to service provided!! Can’t say enough about this clinic. Rescued our classroom pet rabbit many years ago (pro bono & children ecstatic)!!! Cared for my cat, as well as my dear retriever with cancer with such care, knowledge & integrity! The whole staff was attentive and caring. When my dog was experiencing difficulty with treatments, they always fit us in. What a blessing to have such a wonderful service in our community! Thank you to Dr. Cléroux and team!! “The vets & team who do it with heart ??”!!!

I would not recommend this clinic. Especially if you are in for a bird. (Keep in mind, I was told that they DO see birds. And had a specific vet for it) The vet refused to run anything more than a lice screening, despite being asked for a more thorough exam. Encouraged me not to let a wound on my birds leg close, and pushed a certain kind of soap to clean the injury with. He continued to refuse to run any further tests. (X-ray, blood test ect.) Told me that the next step was amputation. At that point I took my girl to a different vet. It was too late. We found the problem with an X-ray, but it had already progressed too far by the time I could do anything. We had to Euthanize. Please, at least don't take your small animals here.

I have used RPH for 13 years. Great staff. Recently had to put my little chihuahua down. I was an emotional mess, Dr. Jay and his staff were wonderful and caring during this extremely stressful appointment. I have no reservations in recommending this caring clinic. I will continue to take my pets here! Thanks again to Dr Jay and staff.

Don’t ever take your pet to Rutland Animal “Hospital”. We took our old 16 yr old pup there, convulsing in our arms (I think he was having a heart attack) and they sent us away because they closed in 45 min and the vet (not just the receptionist) said they weren’t taking any more “appointments”. So. Shady.

I have taken every animal I have owned to them since before they moved to this spot in the old convince store location. I have always been able to call in and get a triage reference for the urgency of my pets care. I have always felt.safe to leave my pet there and know that they will get the best care. Over the years I have had 3 cats 2 dogs 1 rabbit and a ginnie pig. They have treated them all.thank you everyone at rutland pet hospital.

Very helpful, great staff. I call all the time to ask questions and don't feel pressured to come in unless it is serious. Even called them before I got my current dog to get info on the breed, called two other vet offices and they didn't have the time of day for me.

I have had to bring my rabbit in a couple of times and the last time he had molar surgery. The service I have been given has been so wonderful. You can't take rabbits to many places for specialized procedures in the Okanagan so I am so happy to have found them after having awful service elsewhere. They have been informative, kind, and understanding as we deal with these issues with our bunny. They are almost half the price of where I can gone before I found them when he had his first surgery. I absolutely recommend this vet for anyone dealing with rabbits.

I have been using this vet clinic for some time. My first visit there was for a sick stray kitten. Dr Jay did some tests and found out she was carrying a very serious viral disease and he immediately quarantined her, called infection control to patrol cats in the area we got her from, and then kindly put her to sleep. He was amazing. For several years now they have cared for our two dobermans. Our oldest is now six and has a terminal heart disease. So she is now under the care of another vet who specializes in hospice. With that said, they were the primary care givers for Santana since she was a puppy. They have always been amazing, and when we had serious concerns.... Dr Jay or his partner would call us in the evening to check up on her. Enter our newest puppy...Chicago..... I have had her there on several occasions and she is HAPPY to see Dr Jay or Dr Charissa and has been treated like the child we believe her to be. EVERYONE at this clinic has treated us well!

brought our puppy in for his second set of vaccinations and check up the staff was very unfriendly and pushy to spend money. was being judged from the moment we walked in and was told we couldn't neuter him at 6 months had to wait until after a year old with no choice. NOT a good expeirence Will be taking our pup to another vet

Very happy with the services provided by both Dr. Jay Cleroux and Dr. Charissa Ridderbroek! We normally see Dr. Jay but when our dog required care while he was away, he arranged for us to be seen by Dr. Charissa. He filled her in and showed her what was going on with our dog so it was a very seamless transition. She is super kind and sweet! The only thing I would suggest is happier faces/attitude at reception!! (just reception staff) It feels a like a assembly line, like they are just pumping out invoices and taking payment. When a person is bringing in a pet sick or otherwise, it really makes a world of difference to be greeted and sent off with a smile and friendly attitude. If that was improved, I'm sure more people would walk out of the office feeling like they received great service and would be more likely recommend Rutland Pet Hospital to others.

I brought my puppy in to get him neutered. I wish I could upload pictures to show what a horrible job they did. It looks as if they took hedge trimmers to him. He has cuts and gouges all over his little belly. His testicles have a clear across cut where there should not be one at all from clippers or scissors. His flank looks like one big open wound. Completely swollen and raw. I absolutely do not recommend you bring any sort of animal there. It's one mistake I wish I could take back for the sake of my poor puppy. The doctors were great with my dogs, it's the front end staff I have a problem with. Every time I go in there (which is often because I buy my dog food there) those girls need a lesson in manners. Unfriendly, not helpful, make me feel like I'm bothering them. So sick of horrible customer service these days..it's not that difficult to say thank you have a great day!! Also the lady that calls herself Karen, she cut my dogs nails and was more than rough with him. He's just a puppy and because he was hyper when she came to take him in she put both her hands around his mouth and shoved him into floor! Not once but twice. Then she took his leash wrapped it around his neck and dragged him to the back!!! I have half a mind to go in there and do that to Ms. Auntie Karen!! I think the staff there is horrible and will never take my dogs there again!!!

Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and great at handling temperamental animals. Fees are comparable. They give options in service for if you don't have a lot of money. They're honest and don't tell you your pet has to have treatment they don't need!

The staff here are so wonderful. I was staying in Kelowna for 4 months with my cat and she took ill. I visited the hospital and found that she only had a while to live. We were given some medication to help her (I'm sure it prolonged her life). Sadly she died a few weeks ago when I was back home. I called to let the Rutland team know and yesterday I received a lovely condolence card signed by all the staff. My vet at home didn't even do that! I think that that the staff at this veterinary hospital truly care about your animal and they want to help in the best way possible. I highly recommend Dr de Yaegher he was so kind. Jen was so wonderful when I called as well, she remembered my cat as soon as I said my name. Kindness doesn't cost anything and they have it in spades! Thank you

We took our cat there today after calling in this morning, and the receptionist was more than happy to try and fit us in even though they had a very tight schedule, all because of the possible serious nature of what could be wrong. They were super friendly to everyone that came in, and the vet we had was great even though our poor cat was so tempermental because of how traumatized she was from the previous vet clinic. The price I thought was pretty fair! Definitely going to go back. Sorry our kitty was so angry!

I went in with my dog for an exam, first time, front office staff, not smiling, didn't greet us well, proceeded to tellme what was wrong with my dog, before I had a chance to explain. the doctor didn't greet me didn't look me in the eye, just spoke and took notes, he then proceeded to examin my dog, my dog was clearly in pain, and didn't allow the doctor to touch him, he continued the exam, my dog clearly, in pain, the doctor got upset, said he can't examine the dog. if he would have listened to the owner, and watched the dog, wecould have had a much better visit. I went home sad, upset and my dog limping and in pain, not impressed, terrible service. Someone who is in a position like he is should be loving and caring to animals, he did not give my dog any dignity. If he was in pain would he like his joints pulled and jerked, shame on you, disgusting!!!

Rutland Pet Hospital is a complete rip off!!! If they had a great veterinarian and great staff, then I wouldn't mind paying for it... but no! Everyone seems like they have no idea what's going on. My puppy had to get a urine test done which cost me over $150 for them to tell me she's perfectly healthy. Then her 3 boosters was going to cost $135, I'm now with another clinic and they charged me $60 and they actually gave me great service. Save your money! Don't go here!

Dr. Jay was amazing and found him very truthful and honest. Was a very caring man and could tell just by the way he was talking to us about our dog that he was not into making tons of money at all but wanted the best for our dog. He is so gentle and loves our animals. Thx !!
