Total regret using this place. our reg vet detected that our dog needed a splenectomy due to a growth and we were instantly referred to Riverview for surgery. our dog was having internal bleeding (life-threatening). 2 days later, no call.i ended up calling them & we were then suddenly having to take him ASAP.the vet there apologized for having had our dog's referral overlooked (someone messed up) .pup was taken away for further tests and needed surgery, promised for next day. long story short, they kept him knowing bleeding was happening.Got a call at 9pm to say our dog was weak &they need to operate & they would call later. 45 minutes later got the call that dog coded & brain damage.they revived him after then giving him a transfusion(why not earlier when he needed it & it would have avoided cardiac arrest ?) and cpr.Obviously they werent paying attention.... brain dead, no surgery, euthanized & a $2400+ bill to be paid on the spot.im angry & disgusted.Felt it was a money grab also.

What an amazingly caring staff and knowledgeable doctors!!! If anyone is looking for an orthopaedic surgeon for their cats or dogs, this is definitely the place to go, Dr. Arsenault is the best at what he does. I can't thank you guys enough for everything you did for Darko last December and all the great care you all provided post surgery. One of my favorite thing about you guys is that I have never felt rushed or used for my money. They always take the time to explain everything and to answer all your questions. While some people might find them expensive, I have to disagree. They charge a very reasonable amount for the services they provide to their customers. Also, let's be honest, I would much rather pay a professional like Dr. Arsenault to do quality work the first time than let any other vet do a surgery on my cats and "mess them up". Thank you RAH, from The bottom of our heart. Maggie Rousselle, Roman Chukalovskyy, Darko and Ti-Prince.

Worst experience ever. Couldn't be more disappointed and angry and an establishment where we feel taken advantage of and that our pup was not cared about. Total money grab with lack of empethy towards animals in my personal opinion. Misdiagnosed, misinformed, no communication, laughed at us, scoffed at us. We feel like our pups health was not their priority but making a buck was by not informing us of ALL information. I do not mind spending good money on my kid (our pup) but charging for removal of hardware that they put in during surgery and not considering it post op care is ludacriss by trying to charge additional after they put this in our dog without telling us it would cost additional after we already signed for a surgery that cost thousands. If you have to go there, make sure you record and document everything properly and get all information up front because they in my opinion will just keep adding additional cost without your concent or knowledge.

We had a late night/early morning emergency with our 15 year old dog, who is normally very robust and healthy for his age. Our dog starting throwing up, pooping in the house, and then projecting blood when he tried to poop. We took him to the Riverview Animal Hospital at 1am, where we were assisted very quickly. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and quickly got our dog set up with an IV for fluids, as he was severely dehydrated. Our dog was kept at the hospital for 3 days, until the doctors felt confident that he was almost fully recovered. We were called once or twice every day with updates on how he was doing, and ultimately, considering how long he was there, the series of blood tests he received, and the medication he was given, we were surprised at how reasonable our final bill was. No emergency fee, and the staff seemed to genuinely care about our dog and treated him with the love he deserved. We're very pleased. Would recommend this hospital in a heartbeat.

While I was away our beloved pet, Hershey started having seizures. My husband that evening took him to Riverview Animal Hospital. Hershey was 17.5 years old. My husband thought at that time they would recommend having Hershey euthanized due to his age. At the Drs recommendation they suggested seizure medicine which may give him a couple more months. Hershey was kept in for 1 night and then sent home where he continued to have seizures. He would give out a cry before having one. My husband took him back at which time they euthanized. So I personally feel it was all about the money rather than the care for our pet and they played on the emotion of how we felt about our pet. The bill totalled $870.92. Bill if they had suggested Hershey be euthanized on the initial visit (rather than giving him a life expectAndy of another 2months) initial visit 64.95 + 105.00 euthanasia and $119.50 for private cremation total $289.45. this is not about compassion but the bottom line $$$$$$$$

My cat, Izzy, was attacked by my own greyhound, and needed immediate vet care. The team at RAH immediately took care of her needs. Unfortunately, she had a drug resistant infection, and the skin around the wounds rapidly deteriorated and the sutures fell out. She lost a lot of skin tissue, so the wound could not be sutured closed. Her large open wound required daily saline bandage changes. The RAH team guided me through everything I needed to do, and after a couple of training sessions, I was able to do the home care. We had to use sterile saline on diaper pads to keep the wound constantly moist. We also used honey to speed healing. Izzy's wounds healed in record time, shrinking daily. The wound fully closed over in time and she is now completely fine. The RAH team of Drs. Moskovits, Pulman and Roussel, and their support staff, gave me the information and training I needed to be a part of Izzy's recovery. I would never hesitate to recommend Riverview AH.

Our dog required knee surgery and was referred to this clinic. Our consultation was great and put my mind at ease. The staff was so kind and knowledgeable. Since we live out of town we had to leave him there for his surgery later in the week. He received excellent care and we got a phone call to update us everyday. I was very happy to know they were there with him 24 hours a day and he was not stuck in a crate. Dr. Runyon is a great surgeon and the surgery was a complete success. We are now one year later and he is better than ever. I would recommend this clinic to anyone!

Very expensive. Every time I have gone there they try to push product on me (that dog food that has cornmeal of all things in it has been a frequent push) and never listen to concerns about my dogs terrible dandruff, and a concern that she doesnt drink water much, and has had very bad gas.she Said my dog was perfectly fine, so I brought her somewhere else and what do you know she WAS dehydrated. Always very rushed and have been outright ignored by the vet and reassured my dog is fine without even checking out anything I have brought to her attention. She just assumed she was right without looking his way. Put my dog through unnecessary stress when she was cooperated perfectly. I don't know about other vets but Dr Sarah is clearly in it for the money and no other reason. Definitely not for a love of animals as she seems nervous and not knowledgeable about dogs. Acts like she knows everything yet does not explain anything and just brushes off concerns of pet owners.Avoid this doctor!!!!

Great Vets....great overall staff!!! My little guy Jaxon spent three nights here with 24 hr care. They were able to diagnose his condition and begin treating him. It's been two weeks since he's been home and is doing really well. The Vet kept me well informed during his time there and even followed up since we've been home. I will definately take him back in the future if need be! :) thanks for saving my lil man :)

I took my cat to Riverview on a Sunday due to an emergency. The staff were very helpful and compassionate and clearly care a great deal about the animals they work with. They provided straightforward information, and because my cat was quite sick and had to stay for a couple of days, phoned each day to update me on his progress -- as well as let me know how much they were enjoying him! This was a long-distance call for them, and they spent as much time as needed to make sure I understood what was being done to help Squiggy and how he was progressing. They also made it as easy as possible for me when I took him home and made a difficult and scary situation a lot less stressful to deal with. I am grateful to them both for what they did for Squiggy and for their kindness in reassuring me and making sure that I was kept in the loop.

I have been taking my dogs here since 1996 & have always been treated kindly & with respect. I've lost 2 dogs to cancer and would not even think of taking my animals anywhere else. Everyone there was understanding and showed empathy and kindness during the 2 hardest times of my life. Dr. Arsenault is the best orthopedic vet, and I would recommend him in a heart beat. I had a Rottie who tore both back ligaments within a 6 month period and he was only 2yrs old. The surgery was expensive, but worth it. On the 2nd surgery Dr. Arsenault did everything he could to cut the cost for me, as I had been thru this once before. I recently rescued a 3 week old lab/sheepdog mix, and the vet gave me a formula to feed her as she was so young. She had about a 20% chance to live and she's now a happy, healthy 6 month old puppy. If you love your pets and they're like your children, money becomes no object in their care. I would never take my girls anywhere else. You guys Rock!!!!

I was very pleased with our visits last April,May,June 2013 when we had to have Maggie our Yorkie operated on. She had bi-lateral medial luxating patella. She required surgery on both back legs in May 2013. I did research and asked a lot of questions. I was very impressed with the answers and treatment we all received from Dr. Arsenault and his team. The consultation in April put my fears to rest and the care during and after surgery was amazing. Maggie had difficulty while at home and even though I was 4 hrs away Dr. Arsenault and his team put my fears to rest and helped me bring Maggie through it. Maggie is fully recovered and thriving. She is back to enjoying walking, running and jumping without issues. If your furbaby requires surgery or care they come highly recommended by our Family. Maggie could be seen on the following link. https://www.facebook.com/groups/48948... I am a worry wart and they took care of me as well as Maggie. Great care! Great people!

As owners of a 13 year old Bichon Frise (Darwin) we have had many years of excellent care from the staff of the Riverview Animal Hospital. They are fully equipped and are the highest rated animal hospital in the area, with both American and Canadian Vet. Association credentials. With 24 hour care (no call out fees) you have the security of knowing you have someone to look after your pet at any time of the day or night. Besides the professional building, equipment etc.,the amazing, caring staff feel like family to us. Our little guy has suffered a number of serious and on-going illnesses in his life and we know we could get no better medical, professional and personal care. We are grateful to everyone there from vet techs to front desk staff to the terrific Doctors.

Got great service from this clinic, particularly from Dr Runyon. After 2 knee TPLO surgeries, our dog can be herself again and we can relax. Great frontline staff - everyone was polite, reassuring, and knowledgable. This wasn't an inexpensive venture, but we expected that going in and know that when we take on our pets, we're agreeing to a lot of unknowns. Really loved our experiences here, but hope never to need the services of Dr Runyon again. :)

My boys, Ben and Jerry, have been going to RAH for a few years now, when we got our new cat, Princess; it was a no brainer to bring her there too! She was recently in for a procedure and I have to tell you, I wish humans were treated as well in hospitals as my Princess was at RAH! The staff goes above and beyond in the way they care for the animals and respect us as "the parents". They are very careful to make sure everything is just right with our "children". Princess had some minor issues, the doctor took time to call us and explain what the issues were. I actually recommended this hospital to my good friend who has 3 cats of her own and she switch without ever looking back. Every doctor that works there, as well as every staff member, is amazing. I wish I could be treated there too!! You never want to have to bring your animals at the hospital, but at least I know that I need to, my "kids" are in goods hands or should I say good "paws"...

We absolutely appreciate and love the service we receive at the Riverview Animal Hospital. It is not the closest vet to us, but we will go the extra mile(s) to take our kitty cats there. We know the care, attention and expert advice they will receive will be exceptional. They (RAH) practice the latest in Veterinary medicine. Dr. Francis Arsenault and Dr Sarah Moskovits have been fabulous and offer the best they can personally offer. A specific example, when Mac, our 12 yr old Himalayan developed kidney issues and was down and out they helped to give us options that resulted in giving Mac a new lease (extended)on life that we did not expect. A miracle in so many ways! For that we are forever grateful! We cannot stress enough the importance of regular checkups, it will pay off in the end for sure! It is a great place for pets & owners to receive this kind of care and attention!

I am very impressed with the great care my cat gets at this clinic. Every staff member from reception, to technitions and doctors, work to make this a positive experience for both the pet and owner. As the owner of a diabetic cat that has required a lot of care, I can be as scared and difficult as I know she is and I appreciate the awesome care and consideration that she receives. All her treatments and expenses are clearly explained to me. She is given follow up instructions and the staff are always kind and helpful if I call with any further questions or concerns. I feel the staff at this clinic put the care and comfort of a pet as top priority. I thank everyone of you for your dedication in helping our precious pets and a special thanks to Carol Horsman for always being so kind to us and Dr Liane Nelson for taking such excellent care of my girl. I highly recommend this clinic to all pet owners.

Very expensive and double chaged, over $2,000.00 for a dying cat. Took my cat in was vomiting. Put her on fluids, did xrays, blood urine test, found out she is allergic to food. Put her on a special diet, few months later she got very sick, took her in after hours, emergency, they were very busy, vet knew her story, had previously had all tests etc. Told us he would be in touch and that he would let us know if she needed more tests, etc. Well, he did all the tests over again, xray, etc. said nothing wrong gave her medication. We were releived that nothing was wrong, we didn't mention anything about him doing the tests all over again so we paid again a large bill. A few months later she still was not well, took her in and the vet told us that she had a very large tumor size of an orange. Told us that it would be best to euthanize her as she was probably in great pain. We spent almost over 3,000.00 in less than a year. Ask yourself, do you think it's all about money.

I must say first that i am the same person who wrote the last rating which was the one about the cat having to be euthanise.I remember now that this same clinic used, on a previous visit, the same medications. One injection to sedate my cat and the other one to reverse the effect of sedation. That was to take a urine specimen. They couldn't do it without sedation. I am starting to wonder if they sedate all animals to do a minor intervention. If they do that to all cats or dogs can you just imagine the $$ from that. No other vet from other clinics has never done that. They don't need to sedate an animal for urine. They know how to take a urine sample or blood sample without giving the cat 2 injections. If they do that routinly just think of the money they may be taking from owner and often for no reason. There are also risks for the animal with those injections This place is to avoid at all cost. I surely hope my cats don't get sick when they are on call for emergency.

I went there for an emergency. The experience was just horrible. They are there for the love of money and certainly not for the love of pet.I had to euthanize my cat. I didn't know that at first so they charge me for a medication to sedate my cat, then a medication to reverse the effect of sedation. But since my cat was euthanize ouf course she didn't need the second medication. Nevertheless they had the audacity to charge me for two injection and the euthanasia. They really took advantage of a bad situation. What a poor code of conduct. I reported them to the vet. Association but there are no laws as far as price is concern like the Medicare system.

I took my cat in when I couldn't get into my regular vet. I found them efficient, knowledgeable, understanding, and they put the care of my cat first. They are not expensive and work to make sure veterinary care is afford able. Their prices are competitive with other vets here. I now take my 3 cats there. I have no problem getting my cats in, especially when i need to see a doctor immediately.
