I've been going to this clinic for quite a few years, and have always found the staff friendly and well versed in their field. Dr Dunn is great with my GSD, she is patient and takes the time to explain things when you have questions. She has a great wealth of knowledge from her experiences and I would trust her with any of my animals. She deeply cares for your pet as if it was her own, and you can see this is the care that she gives even after leaving the clinic. Every issue may not be text book so a vet with such knowledge is a great value that can never be over looked or unappreciated in this field. Front desk are always professional and pleasant also. The techs and help staff are also a great team and go that extra mile for your pet. I would highly recommend this clinic!

I have to agree with the assessments of Dr's Dunn and Marshall submitted so far. Dr. Dunn lacks people skills and does not respond well to opinions different from her own. Dr. Marshall is quite busy and often late for appointments. Although I would class Dr. Marshall as highly competent. We will continue to use this clinic.

Will never bring my pet here again. Dr. Dunn was very unprofessional. Made a hard decision even harder. She completely lacks people skills and should keep her opinion to herself.

I had Dunn-Maclean for first time. She was like a used car salesman. Right off the mark she yanks a piece of plaque from my old cat's tooth. Something Beth would not do with another cat I have because of the damage it could cause. Now my cat's mouth is tender. She regaled me with anecdotal personal stories irrelevant to my cat. She wanted to do a workup of blood which was more than I could pay for then gave me scare tactics that made no sense and when I asked questions that they probably don't get often she got tongue tied. SHe left an aide to give a shot of anti nausea drug-for what I don't know- and I never saw her again. I have had too many bad experiences there and there is never a guarantee of seeing Dr. Marshall even if appt. is made. I won't go back. Oh and reception treats me like I have been black balled. I am difficult I guess because I won't genuflect.

This is a great vet clinic. All the girls are very nice, accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. Since new ownership I have noticed a different vibe when going to the clinic however. Caution if seeing Dr. Marshall. She is never there, reschedules your appointments, is rude to the staff and is late. I had my pet there and had some tests done. Had to keep calling for 2 weeks to get results! When seeing Dr.Dawe I got test results the same day!! Used to be a fantastic clinic all around, I still find the care is great and would recommend my friends to see any of the other vets working there.

Had an appointment with Dr. Dunn-MacLean. She was incredibly condescending. Tried to make a view that differed from hers seem ridiculous and fringe even though there is plenty of support for it in peer-reviewed veterinary journals. She never refuted anything, only gave anecdata from her personal experience to try to guilt me into a decision. Support staff seemed good though.

Avalon animal hospital is the best clinic in town, although do not see Dr. Marshall, she always reschedules her appointments.

I have been going to this vet for years. I have had a wonderful experience with all my pets. I can always get an appointment when I need one, the whole staff are kind and they really go above and beyond. Everyone can have a bad experience somewhere, but I believe they're the best in the city!

Terrible experience. Met with vet "McKeown" - she didn't introduce herself, got the name from the website. She was very abrupt and rude. We got very bad news and she showed no compassion and no sympathy. Waited impatiently for us to make a decision over spending thousands of dollars on a long shot hope or putting our beloved pet down. We will never return. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful however.

I have always found the staff wonderful, very patient and informative. I've been going there for years so I've seen all the vets and found them all fantastic. Whether it was a bad outcome (pet had to be euthanized because of extreme illness) or a good one (just got home from getting my cat's stitches out! Full recovery!), they have always treated both me and my pets extremely well.

I saw Dr. Ellison with my rabbit and she was frank and honest. She even let me listen to Bunny's heartbeat! She had so much information and I would recommend her for exotics. Had the same Dr. for my cat and was not as pleased.

Very bad experience. I witnessed a vet (Dr. Marshall) belittle one of the receptionist during my visit. Very unprofessional and I hope that the receptionist finds a new job. Nobody deserves to be treated like that and I have always found the staff to be very helpful anytime I have called.

I brought my cat here with an injured tail. Another vet had pulled off the fur and skin during an unnecessarily harsh examination, requiring that the tail now be amputated. Dr. Beth Marshall was incredibly gentle. She let my cat wander around the room, observing him and waiting for him to become comfortable before she gently touched him to examine him further. After the horrible treatment we received at the hands of the first vet, I am forever grateful for Dr. Marshall for her caring, gentle nature and her tremendous skill. And on top of all that, the surgery ended up costing much less than the original estimate.
