Click to report rating    4/25/20   5     5     5     5   We rescued a Lab cross from the Cowichan SPCA in November of 2019, and he had been getting his care through the SPCA at CCAH. We have continued to bring him here as the staff are always so friendly and accommodating. Drs. Keith and Charlene always take the time to explain what is going on and course(s) of treatment - in terms that we can understand. We know our dog is in good hands when we take him to this clinic and based on the standards of care we have experienced, we would highly recommend them. RID: 69203
Click to report rating    10/5/19   5     5     5     5   I could not be happier with the care my rescue cats get at this facility. The staff are all so caring and courteous and willing to bend over backward for my fur family! Their jobs are not easy jobs...lots of heartache and unrealistic expectations from clients, but these true professionals never cease to amaze with their capacity to care for us all?? RID: 68608

Click to report rating    6/20/17   1     1     1     1   My dog was vomiting, shaking and bleeding, but the receptionist said that they don't do "emergency walk ins". Was turned away! Cannot recommend this place RID: 63953
Click to report rating    6/8/15   1     3     3     1   I used to advantage for pets there but when I tried to buy tapeworm medication for an abandoned Cowichan rescued spayed cat staff there said I have to have a vet see the cat or drive away to whatever vet had the pets chart & suffer the risk of infection to all my other pets ...not good..not going back. I phoned other vet places closer & purchased it without the money grubbing appointment fee at $20 per cat tape worm pill didn't want infection occurring to other pets RID: 57336
Click to report rating    10/19/14   5     5     5     5   I have been using this clinic for years and love love love the service!!!! The staff are kind and loving and the vets are alway informative and helpful to give my dog affordable treatment. If I can't afford what he needs we figure out a cheaper way to keep him healthy. I would recommend this clinic to anyone that loves their pets!!! RID: 54174
10/19/14   5     5     5     5   I have been with CCAH for many years and they have bent over backwards many times for me. I often have rescue animals with multiple or "different" issues and Dr. Charlene always answers all of my questions (weird or not) and gives me all of my treatment options. She does research, on her own time and only does diagnostics etc when needed. If i need to get in to the clinic right away I can. I am on a first name basis with everyone here and their love of both animals and people is inspiring. The front desk is amazing, organized and I'm shocked to hear that anyone has had less than a great experience with this office. I would encourage you to talk to the vets instead of ranting anonymously on a page. Central Cowichan - Dr. Charlene, Dr. Olson, Dr. Skelton and Dr. Pollock are amazing. Mary, Cindy, Pam, Angelica, Heather and Heather have been with me through the good times and the bad times and I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you Central Cowichan Animal Hospital. <3 RID: 54173
Click to report rating    9/2/14   3     1     1     1   OMG I always wait about 10 to 20 minutes when I go to see a vet and I NEVER complain. I am ALWAYS on time, except today when I was the late one. I had a difficult time getting my 1 yr old cat into a box and bring her down. So I was 9 minutes late. Well they said too bad, rebook for another time. Nice! That's ok because I went to Provost Clinic and she actually got in with a little wait. I looked at the bill and the deworming 16 mg Milbemax was was only $10.94 and at Cental, for the same stuff was $23.74!!! It was Dr. Keith Olson, I don't think the other vet Charlene would have sent me away (with cat in box!). Ignorant. RID: 53367
Click to report rating    7/18/14   1     1     1     1   These people care more about money than animals. They refused to give our cat who was hit by a car back to our 8 year old daughter. We searched for our cat down and found her here. The bill was $628.39 and the cat is fine. These people are minsters! RID: 52633
Click to report rating    8/25/13   5     5     5     5   Nothing but praise for the people here. I've had both my dogs operated on here by different vets and I can't say enough good things about the vets or the staff. And I've never been kept waiting, I've always found the facilities spotless and the bill has always been reasonable as opposed to some vets you will find in Victoria. They prescribe sensibly and only use diagnosis tests if they need to. I wish there were more vets like this. RID: 46523
2/25/13   3     3     3     1   This is not a clinic devoted to animal care. They simply care more about the almighty buck than an animals well being. I was a loyal client for 9 years and needed an anal sack drain for my one dog very badly. He has to have this done once a month or it can get infected. I didnt have the lousy $33 but he needed it so bad and I had been a loyal client I asked them to extend me the credit for a one week period. Although they had done it for me twice in the past 89 years and always gotten paid they quoted policy to me and refused to do it. Really $33 for a loyal client whose pup needed a small procedure ... one that takes 3 minutes . Im disgusted. RID: 40690
Click to report rating    12/7/12   4     4     3     2   Every time we bring our pet in we see a different Vet, and it seems they do not keep good records, as we have to explain all over again what the last vet said we should have done. RID: 38933
