They are absolutely over priced and not compassionate , and they are scammers taking advantage of anyone that walks through the door . they are probably forcing people to put down there animals because of prices and that should be JAIL time for all of them . brought my cat in for a blocked kitty they call it , they wanted to charge me $3800 - 4500 , and there were 3 estimated charged called misc for $400 $ 300 $ 200 ,,, thats were the scam is .My cat had to wait over 45 mins to just get estimate while this was an emergency . I had the same service done for $ 1400 down the street at Downers grove animal hosp . They were like heaven over there , and this VCA was hell RID: 38973

10/28/10   1     4     1     1   Dr. Lasiter said a visibly swollen paw was healed at follow up visit. They charged excessively, trying to pad the bill in every way possible. Had to wait more than 45 minutes to be seen. My experience: Dr. Lasiter wanted us to have expensive bone alignment surgery. This to fix a swollen paw? I declined surgery got antibiotic. They SAY they are ok with online pharmacy for meds but it took 2.5 days to ok the script. 3 weeks of meds and paw was still raw. To my surprise, Lasiter said it was healed. He’s the dr, right? A week later, the paw was still inflamed so I went to a different vet. When she saw my dog’s paw, she asked if it looked like that when Lasiter last saw it, I said yes. She gave another round of different antibiotics. Also asked if Lasiter wanted to do the bone alignment. I said yes, but we were not in a financial position to have it done, plus dog is over 10. She agreed such surgery is more appropriate for a younger dog. Paw is much better now. RID: 20532
Click to report rating    5/23/09   5     5     5     4   Over the years, we've had some very bad vets and some very good ones. As far as Arboretum View goes, they are among the best. Yeah, they're corporate, yeah they have a lot of patients. But high technical care quality is important. Never had a misdiagnosis of anything. To me, that beats the folksy old vet that gets stuff wrong half the time. RID: 12882
Click to report rating    8/18/08   5     5     4     5   Dr. Gray was awesome! He helped save the life of my ferret Amelia. Amelia was diagnosed with a tumor that was embedded in her liver. She was pretty much deemed a "goner". I wanted a second opinion, and Dr. Gray was the only person who was willing to explore the situation further. Through his efforts, we determined that she could possibly be saved. He referred me to Dr. Whittington at the Champaigne/Urbana U of I campus. Turns out the tumor was connected to her diaphragm and she was saved. I can't thank Dr. Gray enough. He and the rest of Arboretum View really care about what they're doing and the animals that they take care of. I recommend this place to anyone. If there's an option, the staff here are willing to explore it. RID: 9686
Click to report rating    7/25/08   1     2     1     1   Horrible.....Way over priced. Paid over 700.00 to have ten stitches put on my Kitty that injured herself. They said they performed all these tests on her which I do not believe.$400.00 up front for starters and probably would have held my kitty for ranson if I did not pay the balance. AND if I brought her back to have the stitches removed they were going to charge me for that plus an office visit. Stay away from this place. I wish that there was some complaint department that we can write too about this place that ripped off all these people. The ones that are not complaining did not have anything major wrong with their pets.( Thank God) They would be singing another tune.I took my kitty to another vet to have stitches removed. He removed the stitches, gave me some antibiotics for her to take another fews days. $30.00....This will now be my vet for my kitty. RID: 9443
Click to report rating    4/9/08   1     2     1     1   Don't waste your time or money. Our puppy broke her leg and we were referred to Arboretum View by our vet. Our first appointment time was changed on us due to the unorganized staff. Our second appointment was changed because the first doctor we saw left the practice. I received a call two days before our 3rd appointment (with a new doc) and the staff person told me she didn't know why someone made our appointment at that time since the doc doesn't see patients that day. She then basically couldn't give me a set appointment time to reschedule; she could only give me times when we could sit and "wait" to be seen or we could drop off our puppy. But she didn't know if they would charge us to drop off the puppy. I've since left two messages for the hospital manager and have yet to hear from her. I would never trust them with my puppy. They might misplace her just like they did repeatedly with my appointments. Customer service means nothing to this practice. RID: 7994

Click to report rating    1/13/08   5     5     5     3   After 4 years of another vet trying to figure out why my darling Welsh Terrier was "wetting her bed" every night. It took Dr. Pasdo about 2 minutes to correct the issue with medication. That was several years ago and Baylee is still doing fine. This is the very best animal hospital in Chicagoland. RID: 6936
Click to report rating    12/20/06   1     5     5     1   Horrible. These people diagnosed a kitten with hypoglycemia and anemia without doing bloodwork or diagnostics. They issued choices as 1) paying thousands of dollars for procedures or 2) putting the kitten down. Symptoms were diarrhea and vomiting. I made the mistake of assuming that people involved with animal healthcare would put the animal's best interests first. RID: 1370
Click to report rating    11/24/06   5     5     5     5   I took my dog here for chemo last year. My regular vet of 20yrs recommended them. The Dr.s ans staff are very patient and thourgh This vet clinic is more expensive then the others but the have highly trained specialized vets on staff. I am very confident of the care my dog received. I also had to rush her here in the middle of the night last Spring to say our last good bys. I was hysterical and the Dr.s and staff were very supportive, patient and understanding. The Dr who performed the euthenisa actually was crying with me. RID: 880
