Vet misdiagnosed my dog on Saturday night. Said the red bump on her back leg was a skin tag. Took my dog to another vet the following Thursday. He took samples from the lump. 1 1/2 weeks later she has had surgery to remove the Mast Cell Tumour. (Some skin tag, eah!)

My cat is very ill with kidney failure and I’ve spent almost $2000 there.I asked to speak to the vet for 5 min when I dropped in and they said I would have to book an appt and pay fee....seriously?? I’m afraid and scared caring for my kitty and she can’t spare a minute out of compassion... only care for money I guess.... very saddened. Also... watch carefully...they will try to top load unnecessary treatments when you aren’t looking..have to watch every minute. Also..every appt there has been at least 15 min wait..

4 paws has young in experienced doctors working there,every animal i bring there ends up a story and dead,PLEASE DON,T GO THERE WITH YOUR ANIMAL IT WILL END UP DEAD,,AND EVERY THING THEY DO IS 800 TO A 1,000 BUCKS AND THEY WILL CHARGE YOU TO THE HILL,WHY? good question,Slater only wants your money,i have secret inside information to their dealings..go across the street i hear only good news there they actually care for your animals not your pocket,,if you don,t have money on you at 4 paws when you get there with your sick animal,,they will watch your animal die and tell you sorry can,t help,,I SAID I THOUGHT YOU GUYS WERE A EMERGENCY 24 HR ANIMAL HOSPITAL,,SHE SAID SORRY MUST PAY 1ST,,PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THERE GO TO DARTMOUTH WHERE THEY KNOW WHAT THERE DOING,,honest to gods truth,If you take a sick animal to their so called Hospitol you will get a call saying their doing okay,,next day another call guess what we need more meds approved,the next call sorry your animal suddenly died.

Love this facility. Dr. Slater looked after our pet when she was small and then she moved to Halifax and we changed because of this. We are now back and with one visit she cleared up an ear infection that another vet in Dartmouth was experimenting with drugs and made it worse. Thank you Dr. Slater for helping Sara.

Dr. Slater has been our Vet since the spring of 2009 for our 2 cats.
Dr. Emma is knowledgeable, professional and most of all compassionate. She always remembers our pet’s strengths and weaknesses and always gives her undivided attention. Questions are always welcome and she always spends whatever time is required whether on a home visit,hospital, email or during phone conversations.
We feel very fortunate to have Dr Slater as our Vet.
