Our dog was throwing up and had diarrhea for two days. Banfield told us to bring him in for a day of monitoring. They had him from 7am-6pm. When they released him to go home he looked in worse shape than when we dropped him off. They never thought to give him fluids and we had to rush him to the ER because he was suffering from severe dehydration. In the vet report they had written that dehydration was not assessed. Our dog had to spend two days in the doggy ICU with aggressive fluid replacement therapy. Thankfully he is ok now but he would not have made it through the night based on their treatment plan. When we talked to the vet and asked her why she did not give fluids or assess him for dehydration she said 'i am sorry, i honestly didn't think it was an issue. I should have thought of it' NOT AN ISSUE.?? HE WAS VOMITING AND HAD DIARRHEA FOR DAYS,!! So not only did our dog almost die, but we paid hundreds of dollars at banfield and another $1000 at the ER.
