We have been waiting for 2.5 hours with our 7 week old puppy, for a minor urine test to be ran.

I took my dog conan in on a sat who wasnt feeling well after the exam I was told one story than another. They also said that they wanted to run some other tests thinking there mght be something wrong with his pancreas but the ultra sound could not be done for a couple days. And that he had bladder stones and would need surgery They also recommended that he stay in the hospital for a couple days and with fluids would be fine and able to come home on mon. They gave us an estimate from 1,900 - 2,100 we agreed to it to help our little guy when mon came around we were told he had severe pancreatis and was very painful but we could try and save him for another 3 to 5 days in the hospital and another $3,000 - $6,000 we decided that we needed to put my conan to sleep. With the final bill being over $2,500 . Bottom line is I feel they give u false hope and lie to you its all about the money with them . I will never again take one of my pets there or recommend them to anyone. Rhonda montague

The doctors and staff are very competent and do seem to care about the animals they treat. My dog is on chemo requiring recurring treatment every 3 weeks. UVC is the only place that can treat her because she has a central-line.
Short & sweet:
Carboplatin injection $120, 2+ times of previous vet
Re-check fee $35, FREE at previous vet
1 hour procedure ran-long; $30 fee for outpatient hospitalization, $17 at previous vet
Cerenia anti-nausea injection $105, $51 at previous vet
Expected bill, from estimate: $270, out-the-door pop $386
BOTTOM-LINE: UVC provides quality pet-treatment at PLATINUM PRICES. I make good money, and I'm not cheap. What I earn in a day was gobbled-up in 90 minutes by UVC. Based on actual-experience and verifiable costs, expect a 100%+ mark-up, minimum, on everything. The only thing I found lacking was a cash-register 'announcer' sounding each time a customer walks in the door with their pet, but they would charge us $30 for that. I'm glad they opted-

They give great care...if money is no object. At what point do you have a conscience and correct your pricing policy? If you go to this animal hospital be prepared to be wrung out for every last penny.

We have had two good experiences at Utah Veterinary Center. We used to take our cats to AVC (Advanced Veterinary Care), but found the doctors and staff to be somewhat cold or worse -- not paying attention. AVC is also very expensive and has a hectic atmosphere. I found Utah Veterinary Center to have more pleasant doctors and more reasonable prices, and a calmer overall feeling. Yes, you still have to put a certain amount of money "down" before they can treat your pet. However, for 5 days of hospitalized treatment for a cat with a kidney disease it came to about $2000. AVC, by contrast, would have probably charged upwards of $4000, just given our experiences there. Try Utah Veterinary Center for your dog or cat emergencies. It's easily accessible right off 7200 south and the doctors and staff are quite pleasant and will take the time to talk with you.
