I brought my energetic 6-year-old Maltese to Dr. Ayoub at this hospital because his protein levels were low. The doctor recommended an endoscopy and colonoscopy. The doctor assured us the prognosis was very good because the dog was young and overall in good health. We were reluctant but Dr. Ayoub insisted on the tests which costs $1000s. We eventually agreed to the tests. We brought our dog home from the hospital after the tests and he was behaving strangely. We called the doctor the next morning, and she assured us it was the result of the anesthesia. By that evening, the dog was very sick, so we brought him back to the hospital. He was septic and died a few hours later. Later, in refusing to acknowledge responsibility, Dr. Ayoub said that our dog's condition could result in sudden death like this. However, she NEVER mentioned this before the procedure. Other vets we have spoken to have said the likely cause of death was a puncture during the procedure leading to sepsis.
