Click to report rating    12/16/20   1     1     1     1   Upon arrival for scheduled surgery the office manager looked at me with a disgusted look in her face and said "Well I am no longer comfortable, we won't be doing the surgery, you can go on your way". She then just walked away, left their clipboard in my hand and everything. I am 4 months pregnant with my third child, I own a business, and I am a busy person. My time is valuable. 2 months of my time was wasted to schedule the appt, then an additional 90 minutes waiting for a surgery to not occur. I even brought cash to to save their biz the cc fees. Anyone who would be so unkind to a paying patient is terrible. I do not know how that disgusting human sleeps at night, or has a job caring for animals. I truly hope I can save anyone reading this time. Just pay 3X as much and go somewhere where you will be treated like a human being, and your animal will be treated with respect, because those who work there now, are nothing like Dr. Pasternak's original vision for Helping Hands RID: 69713

Click to report rating    3/8/17   1     1     4     1   My family member died within hours after receiving alleged substandard treatment. If you are not a trained veterinarian technician you will not be adequately equipped to care or diagnose your pet after a surgery if complications occur. Helping Hands makes it very clear they only provide surgery and no consultation or advice before or after a surgery. They do not respond to their after hours phone line. We thought our dog was still under the influence of a 2 hour sedation injection when we arrived home. We did not realize he was suffering a long and agonizing death. I took video to share with Helping Hands after hours line but they never called back. The terrible flaw in their "system" is you never speak with the doctor. You are given generic literature about reducing bleeding and other side effects. Checking gums, temperature, heart rate, and color of eyes. Your pet could just need a temporary IV but your pet will die in your home but you are not trained to recognize or diagnose. RID: 62949
3/9/14   3     1     3     3   My dog got an infection from having surgery there and within minutes of taking him home his wound opened up. The clinic looks dirty. It should be investigated. Would not go back RID: 50411
Click to report rating    4/1/13   4     4     5     5   This clinic offers affordable vet surgery. The service was very professional. It's different than a regular vet clinic who does it all. They do what they do (surgery and dentistry) and they do it well. I took 4 pets on a 10 hour drive for dentistry and literally saved thousands of dollars. After the suregery, they called to check to see how they were all doing and answered any questions I had. I would reommmend this surgical clinic to anyone looking to save money on pet surgery. Check out their site for prices and pictures of surgeries (not for the faint of heart). Dr. Pasternak has a great business model that should be copied across the country to make vet surgery more affordable. RID: 41448
