I brought my Golden Retriever into FVS over Thanksgiving for vomiting and diarrhea. He was really sick and we were pretty certain he had eaten some turkey and bones out of the garbage. The nurse that talked to us first was very nice and obviously loved animals. The emergency doctor was also very caring, and talked to us about other things that could be causing his illness. When we told her about the bones, she was said they would get X-rays as soon as they got him more stable. He was on IV fluids and a bunch of other medications in ICU (the ICU was really impressive, with the same kind of equipment that human hospitals have). They let us visit him in ICU a couple of hours later. He was feeling better and the X-rays showed bones in his stomach and intestines. A board-certified surgeon came in to do the surgery. He talked to us and made us relax - at least a little. Our dog did great in surgery and was home in 3 days. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth every penny!!

I agree with the poor ratings for this facility. Our dog had surgery and while we were very happy with the surgeon, the post op care was terrible. Their so called "nurses" and their veterinarian who took care of the post op patients were very arrogant and refused to listen to our input. All they did was keep our dog drugged which caused her not to eat as well as having nausea and vomitting. They wouldn't let her home until she stopped vomitting but they wouldn't discontinue the drugs - so it was a vicious circle. We decided to take our dog out of there. Once we did so and she was home without being drugged, she began eating and drinking and did not have any vomitting. The moral is that you know your pet better than anyone. Follow your gut instinct. If the vets won;t listen to you get your pet out ASAP.

We brought our maltese in after finding out she had a progressive form of cancer. Our primary vet was not comfortable doing the surgery and referred them to us. They are quite expensive but the out come proved to be a wonderful experience. I was surprised to see the poor reviews as we have raved about them since. I would confidently recommend them to anyone in needed of oncology services for their pet.

My golden retriever was brought in with vomitting. They charged $3000 to my credit card BEFORE they would see her. They suggested surgery and was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel. The after care was terrible. My golden was vomitting more than when we brought her in. She was always spaced out on meds each time we visited. We checked her out, took her home and used common sense. She was much better immediately. The attitude of everyone there was very condescending. I'm afraid that if we had let our golden stay longer that she wouldn't be alive today!

We took our sad & miserable dog in for skin allergies, we had to wait a few hours to be seen (even with an appointment). After the wait, the dermatologist briefly looked over the dog and said he has a classic case of pollen allergies, they prescribed a peroxide shampoo, conditioner, topical spray, 2 different antihistamines and the end result was, my dog was still completely miserable, his conditioned worsened using all topical products, his skin was peeling off, I was in contact with the staff continously for a month, each gave a contradictional approach to the next, and unfortunately, this "supposed vet specialist" did not have answers, my dog desperately needed, so we talked to other dog owners and were referred to a wonderful local vet that gave our dog the immediate relief he needed, did the skin testing to see what exactly he's allergic to, told us the products we were asked to administer to the dog previously were wrong for his situation. Do not take your animal friend to FVS!

This clinic is the equivalent of a used car dealership. The few times I've been in were all for emergency care and each and every time I felt like the maximum services--necessary or otherwise were pushed upon me. Fees are first here. A painful example occurred when I brought my cat in--my vet closed for the day so I needed after hour care. My vet and myself believed the cat to be poisoned with antifreeze. The FVS vet refused to even discuss a recommendation or test or treatment for such poisoning. Rather he suggested a $3200 cancer test. When asked how we would treat the cancer if the test were positive, he answered with chemotherapy. My cat couldn't hold his head up, so I couldn't imagine a chemo treatment for him. Worse, never once did the doctor mention that they have a test to detect antifreeze. The test generally costs about $60. That this recommendation was overlooked, despite my and my vet's suspicion the cat was poisoned reflects nothing short of negligence & fraud.
