Could use digital X-ray equipment which would make diagnosis easier and better. Vet I saw, not our regular vet, was extremely compassionate, but obviously inexperienced. She took poor history. Our dog is very old, has a preexisting heart condition and had a heart attack. Her breathing is very laboured now. We have already been to the vet cardiologist and our dog is on heart meds. The vet said she could refer her again - which makes no sense. I brought her in to see if she needed water pills if there was water building on the lungs, not to have another $2000 cardiologist referral, then today (2 days later) the technician called to see how our dog was doing and had the nerve to ask if we would reconsider a referral .... like I'm not heartbroken enough already ... if we thought seeing the cardiologist would help her we would have, but we did that not even 6 months ago and we're not made of money. Thanks Hawesbury Animal Hospital for making us feel even worse - if that's possible.

Poor dog had a foreign object that made its way past the ear drum. Dr. Green was able to do surgery to remove the object which saved us a referral to Ottawa for specialized (add costly) surgery.
