Do NOT go here. This is honestly one of the worst Animal Hospitals in the country. Syringes are reused. Animals are mistreated. Recently, a young, otherwise healthy dog died from having his tooth pulled by the surgeon, here. They use pulls small dogs. A chihuahua was sent home with his neck bleeding and the corners of his mouth bleeding because they don't know how to handle dogs. The x-ray machine is not in a separate room - it is close to the animals. The doctor treats his employees like****, in FRONT of customers. Who knows what he does when they aren't there? Do NOT go here.

I’ve been with this vet for a little over a year and am very pleased with the care and attention my pets receive. Even though it’s a little costly, I find it comparable to most vet prices in the area. My 2 dogs are always happy and excited to see Dr. Slovon and the staff there. The groomer does an excellent job on my 2 yorkies!! I highly recommend this vet and facility!!

outdated vet - still prescribes meds no longer used by other vets because of the long list of side effects. only cares about $, not your pet. will tack on 'additional fees' for treatment he claims he gave to your pet, but never mentioned it to you until you receive the bill. absolutely horrible place.

Offers laser surgery. Very caring staff. Tended to my dogs health needs. We have used Dr Slovon since our Dog was 10weeks old. She's now 2 and I can't imagine having anyone else treat her. Excellent, knowledgeable and caring staff. Dr Slovon is very good and gentle with my Bichon. The staff treats her like family & everyone is always ready to answer a question or to chat. Very friendly, timely, and courteous service. Excellent veterinary care. We also use them for boarding and grooming. Never had a bad experience.

I am very pleased with the caring service my Yorkie get at this hospital. Over the past few months, my yorkie has been really sick, to the point, I thought he was not going to make it. His diagnosis was complicated, but due to Dr. Slovan's time, research, patience and constant care and concern, my little Dapper's heath is now in good standings. The doctor explained everything that he was doing and made sure I understood. The receptionists are very pleasant, and the doctor's assistant is very caring as well. They really continue to show my little Dapper much love. A shout out goes to the groomer as well. He keeps my Dapper looking dapper!!!

Dr.Slovon and his whole staff are absolutely amazing. I, my family and friends all highly recommend him. He knows what he's doing when it comes to Veterinary Medicine. He offers Laser surgeries, and that is the best way to go for your pet! Recovery time is very fast. To all those people who have given the most disgusting reviews on this doctor and his practice should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves. You "people" do not know what you are talking about. You complain about how all Dr.Slovon wants is "your money". All of you are just upset because you own pets and your dumb asses never have any money to pay for his services. You expect him to cut you a deal and make discounts for you? Ha! This is a hospital. Expect to get charged. It's not his fault you're too poor to afford proper vet care for your pets. If you can't afford them, then DON'T GET THEM! Pets are like having children. So, therefore, Owings Mills Animal & Bird Hospital is great, and they offer top of the line vet care. Thx

This clinic was excellent. The doctor was very knowledgeable and compassionate. I have had many dogs and have been to many vets over the years. Dr Slovon was one of the best. I recommend him highly. Susan Y, Pikesville MD.

My animal's experience with Dr. Slovon was horrific on so many levels. I have filed a complaint with the Maryland State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. Info to do the same can be found on the Maryland Department of Agriculture website. Let's help prevent another animal and owner from having a negative experience.

This vet business is very sad becuase all they care about is money and not your pet. The first thing they go over with is health plans and money. the building smelled so bad I could hardly take it. The staff looks like a crew you would see on Ink. Gross. I will never never go back here again. I thing the state needs to look into this Doctor's practice. If you love your pet don't take them here.

This vet is a nightmare. Prepare to be overcharged for everything if you decide to go here. He is extremely rushed and handles the pets in a very rough manner. The health plans he pushes are a rip off because you are getting a discount on his inflated prices so you are really not saving anything.There are plenty of compassionate vets in the area that offer care at a fair price, I urge you to use them instead.

This is the worst vet ever! He truly does not care about your pet at all. He gave our new puppy double doses of shots he did not need because it wracked up the bill, and we didn't realize this until we took our puppy to a different vet closer to home. Additionally, he prescribed our puppy heart worm pills for a dog 2-3 times his size just to sell them and then fought with us to return them! These pills were for a dog bigger than ours will ever be at full grown!! We will never take our dogs there ever again, and I suggest you find another place if you love your pets. Even if you are contractually obligated, as we were, choose another vet! It's not worth it to risk your pet's health to stay within a warranty!

Dr. Slovon is nothing but a salesman. His visits are brief and you barely talk about your pet. He is more interested in selling you his products and services which are ALL overpriced. The first and second round of shots were $150 each which included two booster vaccines. I switched vets got the third round of shots (2 booster vaccines) and a rabies shot and a shot for my pets allergies all for 70 dollars. When I had asked Dr. Slovon about my dogs allergic reaction to the vaccinations his reply was we can give him a shot of benedryl but we will have to charge you. Nice.

Dr. Slovon created a very negative experience for my puppy and I. He was constantly rushing, jamming her vaccines in and trying to get us out. Though I realize we were a late appointment in the day, I'd prefer to be scheduled at another time if he doesn't want to give us the proper attention after 5 pm. He often took a condescending tone when I asked questions about my puppy's behavior, and even mocked me ("what, are you taking a microscope to her?") when I asked about a lesion on her leg. I constantly felt I was being forced to purchase something, and when I did purchase the "health care plan" I only later realized how little it covered (no IV or treatment after spaying, though it was sold as "including all spay costs"). My dog is terrified of him, and we had to switch vets. When they were informed of this, they had no problem charging us one more time, with no services rendered.

This vet is horrible!! Though, his front desk staff is nice, as well as the techs. The moment we met the vet he seemed very full of himself and even stated "don't you think I know what I'm doing" when I questioned him about potty training our puppy. This guy is rude and does not care about you or your pets. I called to ask him a question since my dog was sick, he never returned my call. I called back and he just gave a RX over the phone and said to come pick it up. He never asked to see my dog, take his temp or anything! Went to another vet and found out that my dog is very sick and got the correct medicines for him. The new vet was in disbelief as I told them everything Dr. Slovon did NOT do for our dog's first visit. I normally do not write reviews, but I had no choice this time. If you truly care about your pet, do NOT take them to Owings Mills!!!

An absolutely terrible vet! First off, what veterinarian would associate themselves with a puppy mill like "just puppies?!?!" Rather than actually looking at your pet, he'll give a slew of handouts with "health maintenance" plans that will "save you money." He even charges extra to add basic monitoring during surgical procedures!!! If you love your pet, avoid this place at all costs! This man's license should be revoked.

This is the worst vet EVER. If you value your pets health, DO NOT take them here. This "vet" was rude and like a used car salesmen. He misdiagnosed our puppy which could have killed him if we had not visited our regular vet. Thank God we did.

One of the vets who is just into money. At least regarding cats with scratching problems. His solution declawing - regardless of the side effects which he does not mention at all. If you would consider amputation of a child's fingers an appropriate treatment to stop it painting your walls - then go and bring your cat there. If you expect an answer like "give your child paper to paint" then take your feet and run. Declawing is lucrative for him - the surgery itself and the treatment of side effects such as infected wounds (even if less likely when performed with laser), biting, litter box avoiding, and arthritis within the cat's paws. When he would recommend scratch posts, proper training and softpaws he would earn way less up to nothing and therefore he is not suggesting that at all. At least my experience

Had I NOT been contractually obligated to use Dr. Slovon for my puppy's first 30 days, I would have NEVER voluntarily used this facility. I was reminded me more than 10 times that my "health warranty" was only valid so long as all care to the pet was provided directly by their facility. Maybe they should practice vetinary medicine and NOT law or economics.

This was the worse vet I have ever experienced in my life. Dr. Slovan is a very rude, arrogant and ignorant doctor who doesn't value you pets life or even the fact that you came to his office instead of taking your pet else where.
