GCVS has changed recently. It now seems to be driven more by greed (money and ego) than the excellent care and compassion that previously existed. This brings into question why... because it was sold to a chain in 2016? because of their "reality" program television show? because of the lack of oversight in veterinary medicine? all of the above? Regardless, pet owners should heed any red flags, as we wish we had. Get second opinions, particularly before subjecting your beloved companions to major (and costly) interventions that could have catastrophic outcomes. (And, bear in mind that sometimes the complications can take an emotional and financial toll far greater than the original intervention.)
