Today our 15yr lab, Bailey, was attacked by a pit bull in our front yard. I bring her in to HER VET, Kindness Animal Hospital, to be seen and immediately the front desk receptionist reminds me that she needs her vaccines. It has been about a year and a half since her last shot. I politely tell her that she is not in a position today to get those and I feel she is too old for a rabies vaccine. The tech takes us back to a holding room and proceeds to advise me that Bailey must have her vaccines, it is the law unless it is medically waived. She says we can pay for the shots today and come back and get them once she is better. I asked if the Dr could see her or do a blood panel 1st to make sure she is healthy enough. The tech came back and told us that the Dr would not see her until she had her shots. So we walked out with our baby limping and bleeding. We have an apt to see our Vet in Vero Beach this afternoon who advised me he would treat her before advising of any needed vaccines!

Total misdiagnosis of our dog. Sent her home and told us we had a perfectly healthy dog. She had a massive cancerous tumor and had to be put to sleep 19 days later. Our dog was in their care for 3 years. Had lost 1/3 of her body weight in 2 months, stools were black yet after a 3 day observation, sent us home a perfectly healthy dog.
