Purchased rescued dog. Brought her in to be checked by vet. She was examined. I mentioned that she looked liked she had puppies recently, the vet checked her and we scheduled date for her to be spayed. Day of spay I noted to the assistant that she has not been eating yet she gained 3 lbs since her checkup. The vet called during the surgery to tell me that she is pregnant and asked if they should close her up or abort the pups. They told me that I would still have to pay approx. $200 for the service that day regardless. I was mortified! I cannot believe that a vet after examining her the day of her surgery did not notice that she was 7 weeks pregnant prior to surgery. I would never use this vet ever again. And also, unnecessary testing for heartworm, when all you want is the heartworm medication. Unnecessary testing and hefty billing. Find another vet!!
