11/14/14   5     5     5     5   What can I say? They saved our Oscar's life! From the very beginning we were impressed. We were treated like honored guests by everyone. Dr. Bowens and Steve were informative, honest, and explained everything, including options. There was no confusion when we made our decision. Oscar had a ruptured disc but you wouldn't know it to look at him today! We have to get him to slow down, and he doesn't like his cage, but its necessary for his healing. I highly recommend VNCT. Click to report rating    12/27/13   5     5     5     5   We brought our 6 year old dachshund, Izzy, in to see Dr. Bowens. She had started loosing control of her back legs. Dr. Bowens believed it was a ruptured disk in her back and confirmed that with a CT scan. They suggested surgery was the best route, so that evening they took her into surgery. All of the people at VNCT were so kind and understanding and didn't mind us calling at any time to check on her. All of the staff took incredible care of her and she loved all of them! She is walking on her own! I am so thankful that he was able to perform the surgery and that she has recovered so well from it! Dr. Bowens is very talented and has been gifted as a neurosurgeon. He is very kind & love the animals as much as the owner. Very grateful to him and his team for helping Izzy! Many thanks, The Royer family RID: 48964
Click to report rating    11/23/13   5     5     5     5   Dr. B was very thorough and pleasant. He went through all the possible causes for my cats neurological symptoms. Even though he mention that my cat may/could possibly have cancer; he was very exact & methodical in explaining why it could or could not be cancer, as well as other possible causes. He offered what he felt was the best tests that could confirm or disprove possible disease that he felt could be possibly be responsible for my cats symptoms. Also he gave my family and I other possible options as far as tests and a trial treatment protocol if we weren't interesting in pursuing Dr. B preferred tests recommendations. I felt given the fact that Dr. B was telling me my cat could possible have a very bad disease he was still very emapathic (excellent bedside manner) very professional and he & his staff weren't pushy in terms of selling us on doing tests &/or pursuing neurosurgery. His 2 Vet-techs were awesome! Both were very knowledgable & compassionate as well as. GREAT EXPERIENCE RID: 48403
Click to report rating    11/15/13   1     1     1     1   If there was less than bad, I would have chosen that. We brought our dog in today after a referral from our primary vet who thought our Great Dane had a slipped disc. Dr. Bowen ran test ($2800 worth) and called my husband to say it was cancer and we needed to put him down. As we were grieving and coming to terms with this prognosis, Dr. Bowen calls again. Only this time to say that it actually wasn't cancer, it was just a spinal injury that could be relieved with surgery. So the vet called and caused immense trauma to my husband and I BEFORE he even went over the results with the radiologist that performed the procedure. I can't even fathom any medical professional calling with that grave news without being 110% certain. I am utterly disgusted with Dr. Bowen and his practice. Please do not trust these people with your loved pet. RID: 48284
