First brought my 10 year old dog for a 5:00 pm appointment 9/30/20 had to wait 1 hour before they say her. From 5pm to 6pm they examined, wanted her to get bloodwork and xrays done told me i needed to be back no later than 7pm as the vet would be gone. Arrived back on time only to wait another hour. Finally seen at 8pm dog in total distress. Went over xrays with vet (bad communication skills) he left room and them came back in as he forget to tell me important info regarding stones she had. I could tell she needed to use washroom they assured me she was fine. 5 minutes later dog had bowel movement diarrhea in lobby. left office at 8:20 had to stop as dog was extremely distressed and she had to use bathroom again. Staff very uncaring and was told and I quote "IF YOU GO TO A HOSPITAL YOU HAVE TO WAIT" my point to her was that this was a scheduled appointment ! Next visit more of a disaster when wasn't given proper instructions for a glucose test. WONT BRING HER BACK

Brought my first dog in to be spayed and have really pronounced dew claws removed. They nicked her bladder during the surgery which caused involuntary incontinence for a few months but the dew claw removal was the worst of it. They botched it removing them so deep they didn't leave enough skin to close the wound so it continually opened up causing her to bleed all over my house. It took the better part of a year to heal. While they are affordable and easy to book with I consider them the fast food version of vet services.

Used to go to Brantford which was good at the time years ago. Not so much after the renovations. Switched to Ancaster which is closer. Beattie has become a total rip off. My dog has had an ear infection for about 6 months now. He's seen a different vet every time. Not one of them seems to be able to fix it after almost $1000.00 later and kept waiting 30 to 45 min. every time. Could hear my dog crying when they took him in the back. Getting fed up and told them as well. I'm very close to suing them for fraud and get my money back. This is absolutely unacceptable.

I live in Hamilton my dog is 9 years old, use to bring her to Beattie in Brantford before they did the renovations!! Excellent staff and service! Since the remodel I have switch to Beattie in Stoney creek! Brantford has become a rip off, charging more then there sister store for the same service!! Wait times are in believable why bother making an apointment cause they are never on time!! Customer service sucks, lots of lies!! Saying one thing and then no we did not say that!! Today April 23 2018, after over 13 hours, me and my dog had our last horrible experience with this place!! My dog will never grace this clinic with her presence again!

I just trapped a feral cat in my neighbourhood this evening and wanted to do the right thing to get it fixed and was willing to pay for it. I called Beatties and explained the situation and they stated they have a policy where the animal has to be vaccinated a month in advance before they will fix it. This is totally unrealistic for a feral cat that is sitting in a live trap as we speak. Feral cats are a real concern locally and there are hundreds if not thousands in Brantford. For Beatties to not have a concern or protocal to help with this issue shows their total lack of concern for their community and its' homeless animals. They are the opposite of proactive and show themselves as selfish and money driven.

What is it with the 45 minute to 1 hour wait time ?? Every time I go there whether there are other people in the waiting room or if it is empty they stick you in that little room and leave you there for an hour before a vet strolls in. Totally feel disrespected, for the privilege of them charging you hundreds of dollars for this that and the other thing. Sense of entitlement on the vet's part and no concern for the animals and pet owners when they are most needing support and compassion.

Been using Beatties for years as its closest to me. I've been dismayed to find charges that I never agreed to: once they charged me $10 for nailclipping, something I can do at home! I was not warned of this, when I asked if this cost, the tech played dumb & said she didn't know: ITS HER JOB to know how much something costs! I think they just try to run up the bill to pay for that fancy new building! Even though I've told them 10X I'm on welfare they run up the bill! I'm also not happy they charged me $16 for ONE tube of Advantage flea drops, and it did NOTHING to help my cat licking hot spots. Also I followed the vet recommendation of the expensive food for skin conditions, $35 for tiny bag, which gave my cat SEVERE DIARRHEA like I've never seen before. Checked the 1st ingredient: HYDROLYZED SOY PROTEIN On what planet is SOY a natural food for a cat?? They used to give refunds if the bag was less than 25% used, now they don't! Also I'm early for my appts but been left waiting 45 MIN'S!

24/7 care is very important to me. Friendly staff and informative vets. My only complaint is sometimes the wait times are too long. My pets (4) get very good care here.

When I first bought my puppy I brought him into the beatties pet hospital to get dewormed and his first shots I also took in a stool sample and asked them to contact me weather they find something in his poo or not. A few days go by and i called them There is no way to get in contact with that specific office so about a week goes by I get fed up with there office not calling me back after calling 3 times within a week they tell me "oh they didn't send it out"When I get to the animal hospital for his second set of shots the vet told me I have to do the deworming again wasn't strong nor was it enough so they we're going to charge me again so I went to a different clinic and by far the best one I have ever been to"headon forest animal hospital so they asked for a stool sample when I come in to get my puppy his third shots and two days later they contact me saying he has worms. They asked for the name of the deworming I was givin by beatties and it wasn't the proper doesage never again!

THIS PLACE IS A HUGE RIP OFF. My dog broke his nail so i took him to them to get it removed. On the phone I was told it would cost $65 for the exam plus the cost to get the nail removed (I assumed the total would be around $100). He was only in the back for 10 minutes and I could hear him crying the entire time. The total came to $253 I couldn't believe it just to remove a toe nail. Make sure if it's not an emergency to call around to get the best price and get a price on everything or else places like this one will take advantage of you.

My dog cooper was pooping blood.He was a patient at beattie for 2 years.3 times we brought him in and they said he was healthy.We basically had to diagnose him ourselves through reasearch on the computer and found he has seasonal allergies.Funny how beattie never once brought that possibility up.The third time we brought him to BEATTIE they took a blood sample on wed june 27th they said we would be notified within 48 hours.Fri came no call,so I called them they said the doctor would call right back,No call back.Saturday came still no call so we called again and they said they were sorry but would NOT!! reimburse any money for our trouble and the job they failed to complete.All we asked was for a repeat of a mild stomach medication for cooper and they said NO!!!! that the vet would not release any meds until we made an appt. which would be $40 just to get the meds.I asked that a superior contact me regarding this matter on august 5th,they still havent called. PLEASE STAY!!!

Cats I had adopted through a rescue group used this clinic so I continued to bring my cat there for the rest of their shots and to be neutered and I must say I never felt like they cared much for building a cliet-staff relationship or communicate much of anything. Also, I had adopted a rabbit that was spayed there as well. When meeting the bunny and taking her home I noticed she was sneezing a lot and upon taking her home realized there was also discharge. After testing at my new clinic we learned that she had pasteurella, and yet the staff had deemed her healthy. A sneezing bunny is not normal and that should have alerted staff that she may have some sort of bacterial infection. Conclusion: price is right, fancy looking place, perhaps not the friendliest, definitely questionable knowledge.

Our family just received our first dog. Called them up to see what the process is. They told me they would call the other vet to get papers transferred. I find out the previous owners vet, then they say they can't call the other vet, the previous owner has to. Ugh! So we get that done. We make sure they received the faxed documents and they said yes. This was a Friday. I call Monday to make an appointment to get the dog checked over and to get updated shots. Not a problem and everything is in order until I went to the place. Waste of time making an appointment as I had to wait 45 minutes after my scheduled time. Frustrating to wait that long. Once I get into the room they had no file, no fax by the previous vet, nothing. I was so pissed after all the loops they had us go through to get everything in order then they lose it. I just walked out of that place! My first experience I give this place a big fat ZERO!!!! I will never recommend this place ever! If you read this, stay away!!!

Beautiful facilities but communication with clients is horrible!! I took my cat in for a neutering. I asked ahead of time how much it would be. When I get there, they tell me it's going to be extra for this and extra for that... they charge extra for an iv during surgery!! I'd like to know the cost for a SAFE surgery!! They don't tell you that you need to make an appointment to pick your pet up. Too many different vets with different diagnosis... really not a nice place.. we won't be going back.

Beattie was the best animal hospital in the area. Unfortunately it is changing. Greed has set in to pay for the new building. No more multi pet discounts. Rates are climbing on everything and things like prescription diets and teeth cleanings are being pushed like crazy. The new owner in particular will "send you home with" this diet or that. When you check your bill you will discover the $2.50 a can price was added. Some great vets and some not so good. Unfortunately a lot of turnover. I don't mind waiting knowing they handle emergencies. I do mind being treated like a cash cow.

Most up to date facility available, clean, organized, knowledgable,and most importantly, caring. Let me give you a little information about disgruntled clientele. Half of them complain of severe situations that beatties just "let" their pet die, meanwhile, they've declined every available diagnostic to diagnose their pet, until its too late. Either because their welfare wouldn't cover the charges, or because they believed google search was the most knowledgeable reference.. Then they decide to come online, and bad mouth the clinic. I love the fact that these factory workers, mechanics, and estheticians have the gall to say that a young person, freshly graduated out of 8 years of university, knows little about their own profession. Continue you're pissing contest and welfare collections, and beatties can continue their wonderful service of thousands of returning clients, without you.

We took our dog there to get neutured. The staff were great and he was eager to go with them. When we picked him up, we unfortunately had to witness a family bringing in their dog for an emergency and what we witnessed from the staff was amazing. When we took our dog home, you could tell that he wasnt eager to leave. He obviously enjoyed his time there. The prices are great...more than $100 less than our regular vet and the facility is very clean. Beattie will not be our regular vet moving forward.

I am always able to get a prompt appt time. I love that they are available anytime. The facility is new and clean, I always see the same people and everyone is alway friendly. Overall we have had a great expirence.

Disgusting! They don't care about their feline patients. I just spent $400 on my cat with crystals. After 3 weeks he still has not cleared up and is urinating in pain anywhere in the house other than the litter box. After doing my own research and going to another vet, I find out he was prescribed improper food. Why? because the vet gets a bonus for prescribing Hills food which is GARBAGE for your animals! I am more than outraged and hope people think twice before visiting this vet. They put on a good cover but they really just care about charging the vulnerable pet owners and getting a fat cheque.

As a multi-cat household Beattie was recommended by SPCA as well-priced place. They were prompt but service poor becuase there are many vets working there. There is no consistency and I got different answers to my cat's health issues. When my 14 year old cat got ill they said it was a severe virus. I had her hospitalized and spent around $500 dollars. After getting her back I noticed she couldn't eat right so back to the clinic. They diagnosed dental problems and recommended expensive dental work. Finally I took her to a specialist in Hamilton who looked at Beattie's blood work and immediately saw cancer. She popped up my cats tongue and showed me the tumor. No vet at Beattie even looked under there. If I had known, I could have done treatment before my cat became so ill there was no hope. I had to put her to sleep and I regret to this day that I used Beattie. Proper care could have helped my cat or ended her suffering. Go to a quality vet if you have a serious problem.

Excellent!!! They fixed my kittens after I had them spayed elsewhere. Beatties staff was amazing with my kittens and they got it done quickly. They did the job that should have been done in the first place. Great value to. ONly cost me $50 to have the botched job fixed. Will definitely be taking my cats there from now on

My dog broke a bone in his shoulder & Beattie told me it was just a sprain,& did not need xrays, A week later I insisted and was told I was wasting my money. Surprise,xrays showed he DID have a break. Treatment was 'crate rest for 4weeks'. he was still limping after this so took for a 2nd opinion at a specialist, and was told he should've had a pin put in on day one and it was now too late as the bone had healed improperly on its own. My dog will never be the same. Beattie got both the diagnosis and treatment WRONG. My other dog had a horrible rash and Beattie told me it was seasonal allergies and gave him steroids for weeks. Guess what, it was only a food allergy & cleared up once I changed foods. My dogs ACL repair was NOT successful and ha had to be put to sleep. there are differnt vets everytime you go, no one stays long, the wait is horrible and I have had too many mis diagnosises to ever go back. I now go to Paris and I love it. vets who actually know what they are doing.

My dog lost two pups at the end of her delivery (born dead) so we brought her in for xrays with her next litter to know how many she was expecting if she started to stall. She was examined and xrayed, and we were told she was not even pregnant, it was a pseudo-pregnancy. On her due date, surprise...she delivered three healthy puppies...and two dead ones hours later. Vet refunded me for the xray, but refused to refund for the exam. New ceramic floors are very hard for dogs to navigate. Price is definitely lower than elsewhere, but you get what you pay for!

All three of our dogs and our cat go here and we have also had our first dog put down here at the age of 14. The building is very nice now after the renovation and it is open 24/7. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable!

Place is getting fancy, raising prices everyday; I have been taking my pets ther for 2 years & now changed my mind since they have incompetant veterinarians who don't diagnosed properly, when it has been complained to owner, he pissed me off, very arrogant and don't have manners how to speak with people and his own staff. Taking now my pets to a clinic on North park. They are very competant, courteous and professional.

I take my 2 cats here. We make the drive from Hamilton. Hamilton vets are double the price of Beattie’s. I love that they’re open 24/7. I also particularly like Dr. Colette Laroque. She is very gentle with my 2 cats (and is a cat owner herself), and takes the time to explain things to me, and doesn’t push the store products on me (ex: Hills Prescription diet). As long as Dr. Laroque is there we will continue to travel to Beattie’s. I also love the new renovation, it has a spacious waiting area.

This clinic needs to be shut down! I have a toy poodle that got spayed at Beattie & they didnt close her up properly, she ripped open her stomach & when we took her back in they charged us a fortune to clean her up & again attempt to close her up!! That should have been FREE. I figured after 6 years they would have changed so I took my 10 week old pup in for her second set of shots back in March 2009, the vet yanked her around & yelled at me because she was pulling away from him. I mentioned that she has really dirty ears, he smelled them & said ya just clean them!! I did & had been & 3 days later they were dirty again, I moved to WBAH & it turned out that she had a severe case of ear mites. If only Beattie would have cared more about looking into this and not moving onto the next room to make more $ he would have picked up on it. I yanked all of my animals out of Beattie & went to West Brant Animal Hospital - THEY ARE THE BEST and actually care about animals, not money!!!

I took my two cats there to get fixed and they left part of the uterus and one ovary in the female and said there was no way she was in heat when I called. Then they did a second surgery and she got an infection and they had the nerve to ask me to pay for the antibiotic...guess what? I did not pay it. I had to get rid o...f her after that because she urinated everywhere. I was disgusted. The price was right...but you know what they say...YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Awesome vets. Had all my animals fixed there. And when my Jack Russell had an allergic reaction in the middle of the night, we took him there, the vet-on-call had it cleared up in a jiffy and my puppy came home and slept well after being in so much discomfort. They are very good there. I would recomend them to anyone.
