Some great aspects but we drew the short card on the vet we saw this last visit. Firstly front end staff are amazing, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The got us in within a few days which is amazing. The facility is pretty standard and they let one owner in which is super important to me. We went for a fairly minor hotspot and query allergy complaint as well as a wellness exam. Our dog does not love being touched by strangers but come around quickly enough with a few minutes of patience and snacks. The vet we had (Tompkins) didn’t even try and win her over and this the “wellness exam” was more or less her looking at the dog from across the room, briefly listening to her heart and a 3 second look at the skin and hotspot before giving her her vaccination and telling me ya probably allergies. I had to ask for treatment options as they were not actually suggested or provided. So, probably a good clinic but I will be asking for a different vet next time I am in.

We are new residents to the Cowichan Valley and came across this facility by means of the Yellow Pages. Our pet was in need of treatment due to an animal attack and the receptionist agreed to see us same day (hospital hours). The service was prompt and compassionate, but very costly. Our single visit with two follow ups quickly became 4 visits with add-on after add-on. Very quickly the costs came close to our monthly mortgage payment. However at the onset the cost was described as like a shot of medication. We had similar procedures done for other pets in different provinces and the costs were 1/4 of the fees associated. As our pet is a part of our family we pay without hesitation, however in the future we will seek a different veterinarian. My advice to you is not to be well-dressed or drive a nice car when visiting this office. You may be in for a flossing.
