St. Margaret's Bay Animal Hospital is a real gem for animal care, even more so now that they got rid of Dr Kip Grasse, and hired Dr. David Evans instead. Both Dr. Bail and Dr. Evans are amazingly compassionate with animals and their owners, explaining in simple terms, and both have a knowledge base that allows them to cut to chase without a ton of unnecessary tests. The afternoon/evening assistant Patricia is very helpful, and Mary-Ann the caregiver for animals in kennels is super kind and conscientious to both animals and their humans. There is another Assistant behind the desk (short grey hair, slim)who is very funny and a wealth of knowledge, and a Technician who seems very kind and caring. The only complaints I have about this place is the morning desk Assistant is very standoffish coming across as rude. Also appointments often run late, but for this place the wait is well worth it because my animals are always the better after receiving treatment here.

My vet of choice always! They always have the interest of the animals at heart, and never overcharge. I am very confident that my animals receive the very best of care! They are busy, but it is because they are so good. Dr. Bale is amazing.

Great Staff! I have always come-out of the vets offices with new knowledge without them making you feel like an idiot... and i've never been ripped-off and they have never tried to upsell, push products, etc.!!! Strongly recommend this vet.

The absolute best place to take your pet, at least if you're able to get an appointment with Dr. Bail! She's an amazing person and an absolute miracle worker. Have not dealt with Dr. Foster, but she seems very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Grasse (the male vet) isn't one I would personally recommend, as he is very clinical when looking at animals (cats specifically) and almost seems to handle them like inanimate objects rather than living creatures. The receptionists and the technician in the back (Marianne?) are all really wonderful people as well, with the technician seeming to love and care for animals just as much as Dr. Bail. Wait times can be long and you might be on hold for a while when calling in, but it's all 100% worth it. You can't beat St. Margaret's Bay Animal Hospital.

Dr. Bail is the «Mother Theresa» of the animal kingdom. Truly amazing but totally overworked. Getting an appointment can be almost as difficult as getting an audience with the Pope. If you CAN wait, the care is top-drawer. I'm not so impressed with her associates however. They are more «mainstream»: perfunctory and expensive.
