Do your research! 16th Avenue Animal Hospital used to be a great vet. Dr. Brar was an excellent veterinarian and Katie was a wonderful office assistant. Both were caring, compassionate, available and supportive when our elderly dog was sick and had to be put down. I will always appreciate their care at such a difficult time in my life. Unfortunately, new ownership and a new veterinarian turned into a nightmare with my new dog. A simple spaying turned into a second surgery a week and a half later for severe burns she endured during the spaying, I still feel the pain my wee girl endured from burns that resulted in a staph infection. Please do your research! I should have... The new vet’s name is Dr. Mitelman...a rude, patronizing and condescending man.

Dr. Brar and his staff are AMAZING! If you are looking for a clinic that will treat your pet like how you would, then Dr. Brar is the vet to see! A HUGE part of our life is our dogs so we were thrilled when we met a vet like Dr.Brar and his staff!!! From multiple surgeries to regular checkups Dr. Brar knows his stuff and put the well-bring of animals first! He goes out of his way and makes many sacrifices to ensure your pet AND you walk away happy. I have never seen a vet do ALL the things he and his staff do! There is no other vet to recommend other then Dr.Brar!!!!

Dr Brar and his staff have been so helpful and we are so grateful for that. He is caring and helpful. He will answer your call whether it's a Sunday night or early morning . He does what's best for your pet but gives you options. Our cat needed surgery and our schedules are crazy. He does house calls and helps by working with your schedule . With the stress of a sick pet that is really appreciated, his staff was super friendly on the phone and they call back and check up on them after the surgery. They honestly care and are accommodating

Dr P. Brar and his team had provided my beloved Yellow Lab an additional 7 months after she was diagnosed with cancer. He was very helpful and caring and was very compassionate when it came to pets and the needs of the family. Dr Brar has become a personal friend of mine and I appreciate all he has done for my lovely furry family member. God rest her soul.

I have and expect to ALWAYS rely on Dr. Brar for my pet health needs. I have had many rescues both cats and dogs, which can and does present issues, that can be difficult to manage, choose options for and afford. Without exception, he delivers. Knowledge, contacts around the world he consults with when needed and always a concern that both his patients ( the animals) and their owners are ok. My understanding is that he has wanted to be a Vet his whole life and I believe it shows. As far as my experiences in life and with animal care go, Dr Brar is THE go to, when I need Vet services. If you care for your pet, please do not take them to Dr. Brar. Dr. Brar is not a compassionate man much less a veterinarian. It is very clear he does not practice in this profession for the sake of helping animals but rather for the money that he tricks you into paying him. I would never trust Dr. Brar after countless overcharges for non-sensical procedures/tests, offering no sense of compassion and even so far as saying we were being bothersome, and berating us for being worried and anxious when the health of our pet was declining. Thank you Dr. Brar for helping us find actually decent veterinary care elsewhere and not have to spew even more countless dollars towards your sad excuse of a practice.

NEVER GO TO THIS DOCTOR !My dog has been a patient for a year and I find his treatment unhelpful and inconsistent . I had very specific concerns as my dog suddenly started shedding quite a lot, and Dr Brar was extremely uninterested during our visit. He provided vague advice , and we actually had to request him to check our dogs fur so we can show him how much he was shedding . We eventually moved out of the area and when we called to get our dogs documents to transfer to another vet in our new area Dr Brar informed he lived in the west end and would happily do house visits . I had called him 4 separate occasions and he would never confirm a timing . The final time I called he rudely told me he didn't have time and abruptly hung up on me . all pet owners want a caring and helpful vet and I feel like my concerns and requests were constantly overlooked . I am usually not the type of person to write reviews but I wanted to put my experience out there PLEASE HEED THIS WARNING .

Before finding this clinic, I was getting ripped off by another animal hospital. I found Dr. Brar online and noticed within the very first meeting that he genuinely cared for my dog. He was very patient and calm and listened very carefully to our concerns. He did a very through examination of my dog and spent the time reading his entire file. He did make a few suggestions for treatment but also helped us make the right choice. My dog's health has been improving under Dr. Brar's treatment. We have also used his boarding services multiple times. I highly recommend this clinic.

When my rabbit had emergency issue I called the doctor at this clinic, he always replied and asked me to bring my rabbit to clinic even out of business hours. He really cares the life of animals. He charged affordable prices even in weekends. The staff always followup for the situations of pets after 3 days of visit or medications being fed to pets. They care about animals and put their life as priority. The doctor is very responsible and experienced. I strongly recommend this animal hospital to you.

The doctor always tries to up sell you, he seems like he gives u an option but he'll always scare you into purchasing more of his service driving your bill up while playing it off like its "your own choice" but which owner wouldn't want the best for their pet so we will always fall for this trick. They also offered me a free check up after my dog was sprayed by a skunk and when I came for the appointment the vet said come back another day and never did a follow up. Wlll be looking for other vets in Markham.

Dr Brar has been our vet for over two years, we are very fortunate to have such a loving, caring Doctor. He is always available when we need him, regardless what time of day it is. He truly looks out for the best interest of your pet.

I just returned from the vet after one of our cats took a sudden turn for the worse. I called after hours and was surprised to get right though to Dr. Brar. After explaining the situation he immediately offered to come back into work at 10pm that night. We met him there, he explained everything incredibly clearly and offered compassion when he could have easily been frustrated or annoyed at having to cancel plans with friends.
We could not be more appreciative of his efforts and while I would not expect this level of service for every situation, when it mattered most the service was there in spades.

Amazing service and staff ...I live in Brampton but I would rather make the drive down because of how dr.brar has treated our two dogs our corso can be quite difficult and where others cannot and will not try to handle him or treat him dr.brar goes out of his way to treat him ...we are so appreciative to have found this clinic and met such amazing staff that are there for you when ever you need them and truly do treat your pet as if one of their own .

Dr. Brar is a compassionate animal lover which is the best type of veterinarian to have. Dr. Brar always takes the time to check in after the visit and ensure that my dog is doing well. After moving out of the country I flew in just to have him take care of my dog when she was in need of some work. I highly recommend 16th Avenue Animal Hospital. Fair prices, clean and caring service.

Dr Brar is a caring vet. He has looked after my dog's condition for some time now and we have together been able to bring him back to health. He really cares about his patients and contacts me regularly to see how he is doing. His advice has be extremely valuable and my dog is now thriving because of his care and attention. We'd taken our rabbit here when a previous doctor ran the practice and received good service. This visit though was exceptional. Easy online booking, fair prices, respectful and caring service. Best of all the vet presented all the options and an estimate of the costs and let us decide what was appropriate for our pet, budget, and situation. No pressure, no upselling. This is what a vet should be like. Highly recommended.

Excellent service. I am always very happy with the advice I get for my dog. I love how I can contact the vet whenever via text messages, in case of emergencies which gives me peace of mind. I am very happy with the service every time and The clinic knows animals very well. I know my pet is in safe hands with 16th Avenue Clinic. Highly recommend it to every pet owner.

this is an amazing vetenary clinic. from the incredible staff to the professional himself. this is truly the best vet I have ever met. from the first phone call to the last, this clinic doesn't only care about your animal but you as well. My family and i are more than grateful for everything the staff and DR.S did for my family pet. I would recommend him to everyone that has an animal. Peter . :) 5 star plus

Dr Brar and his staff are amazing. I have never met a vet as understanding and compassionate as him. He explains everything very well and in different ways as to ensure complete understanding. His team are also very friendly and understanding. He is honestly the best vet ever and I have been in the industry for over 6 years. He ensures that his facility is clean, his appointments are prompt, he is on time. He also does not want you to spend more than what is needed for the health of the animal. All in all an amazing vet and an amazing clinic. Nothing but great things to say!
