Dr. Hasbrouck is always available when you call him to come. He will evaluate your horse, tell you there is nothing wrong which "time" won't overcome, and promptly charged $130 ($70 for the visit, $60 for the exam). My horse had a bad back, was in pain when she trotted, everyone could see it...except Dr. Hasbrouck. He finally admitted something "might" be wrong when she flinched to the touch on her back. He didn't even recommend Butte. When I got a 2nd opinion (from someone other than Dr. Hasbrouck), my horse's back pain issue was confirmed and fixed. I think Dr. H. has seen better days and should perhaps look at retiring if his only suggestion is to let "time" fix the horse. A friend of mine had a horse with lameness due to arthritis - again Dr. H. prescribed "time". My friend found her own treatment and had Dr. H. call in the Rx. He didn't think it would work. It fixed the issue with her horse. In short, he doesn't seem to be current on equine medicine.
