Unless you get Dr Scammel and your pet continues under his care for the duration of its stay, this place is terrible. Good luck communicating with the “English as a second language” female vet, who also “doesn’t care about money”. Front desk staff are disagreeable and unhelpful. Very expensive, which would be tolerable if the level of care and service lived up to the charges. Not many choices for emergency care in Manitoba, however, so there is little incentive for this establishment to improve.

Have had horrible experiences here, including a very extensive slew of tests and medications for my cat who was dying of terminal cancer (and a tumor apparently the size of a softball... Couldn't have been missed in the physical). After a botched surgery and little to no direction for how to take care of him after surgery, he crashed within a couple of days, in huge amounts of pain and had to be put down. Mine is not even close to the only horror story from these guys. I would never EVER let a friend take their loved one here.

They are a wonderful group of caring folks. We have taken our standard poodle Leo there for years and they have taken good care of him. He was 12 years old, had developed bad arthritis and cancer that had gone to his lungs. They helped us make his last days comfortable and were there when he had down turns and need to be seen quickly. Dr. Hawkes even came to our home to send him on his way. She and her staff have been extremely caring and supportive even through a very emotional time for our family. We would highly recommend them to any pet owner.

This is a great clinic and the staff really cares about its clients and patients.
