Started coming to River Valley because of a health emergency with an older cat. She eventually passed on, but the staff were exceedingly kind and were always great about finding time for urgent care visits. When it became clear my cat's needs were palliative, they were very kind and understanding. They were also honest about balancing between stress on the animal, likely benefits of treatment, and cost to me the owner. Have had only good experiences with the staff, and it's now my go-to clinic for my new kittens.

We took our 10 year old dog in for a dental cleaning. The receptionist was okay when we arrived but less than helpful when we picked up our dog. The vet assistant was fair. She seemed to be trying to follow a script when reviewing the proceedure and didn't do well when we asked questions. We paid for the blood work but did not get the results. We had to ask the following day and the assistant was quite curt with my wife. We paid for pain medication but couldn't give it to our dog since it made him very sedated so that was a waste of $30. We were not offered a follow-up visit to review our dog's recovery. The vet herself did a decent job but we never saw her after the cleaning. All in all we were not impressed and will not return.
