Limited consultation with client prior to medical intervention: no alternative options offered, no consideration on aftercare or long term care to allow client to properly evaluate carrying capacity - which results in 'milking' the client on emergency intervention, thereby limiting options for long term care - which may result in having to abandon or euthanize the animal companion. Note that close to $800 was the 'viable' option offered for unblocking a constipated 5 yr-old cat, to include 2 days of hospitalization. Note also that the client is undergoing chemo treatment for stage 4 cancer, has no income, is debilitated and has now been informed that a urine test has to be performed on her cat - so an extra day of hospitalization will be charged simply to collect a urine sample - as the client can barely accommodate driving back and forth or lifting the cat carrier (severely weakened by chemo treatment - and limited help is available). Long term care for her cat has been compromised.
