We had moved to this area about a year ago, this vet was recommended by a friend. Have been taking our 15 yr old shih Tzu and 5 month old puppy to this vet without ever having had a problem. Last Sat our 15 yr old dog had either a neurological or cardiac event, was in resp distress. I called the vet so that we could bring her in and put her down as she had labored breathing and was uncomfortable. The receptionist stated, "I'm sorry that your dog is dying but we can't fit you in today, you'll have to go to an emergency vet". I repeated what was happening and requested to come in so that the dog could pass without suffering. I was told again that while it was unfortunate that my dog was dying, they were booked for the day and I would have to see an emergency vet. We were stunned at the insensitivity and the lack of compassion. We found a vet that was open on a Saturday and they actually stayed past their closing time (noon) in order to help our beloved dog pass comfortably.
