Don’t take your dog to Dr. Daniel Priehs at Animal Eye Associates in Maitland, Florida! He totally blinded my dog!
I brought my dog to Animal Eye in Maitland because his cataracts were starting to interfere with his vision. He could still see but it was becoming more and more difficult for him. He is an older dog and I realized that there were risks for complications but I decided to take him there to see if they could help him see better.
Dr. Priehs examined him and did several expensive tests, costing over $1,000.00, and told me that my dog would be a good candidate for cataract removal with a lens implant.
Unfortunately my dog’s retina detached a couple of days after the surgery, which left him completely blind in that eye. Dr. Priehs told me that my dog had unfortunately fallen into the 5% of cases that has this kind of result. There was supposedly a 95% chance that he would do well.
