Dr. Scholer started Vetprofen for my 13 yo dog for arthritis.It has some risk for liver toxicity,labs are recommended. After 4 weeks on the med, my dog's liver function tests went from normal (72) to 420 (3 x greater than the normal upper limit.) Dr. Scholer told me that test had mild rise and to continue the medication. 5 days later my dog became very ill, (lethargic, could not stand-up, could not eat) and we went to clinic. Dr.S. denied my dog was ill. I asked him to do liver test and my dog's liver function test values were dangerously high (greater than 1,000.)He refused to admit the medication was the cause. Also, the receptionist (Krystal) ignored us when we got there, even though I had called when we left home to let them know that I was coming with emergency. When I went to the door and politely asked if we were going to be seen, she said hatefully, "You do not have an emergency, your dog is alert and breathing, you are going to have to wait until we have a cancellation."
