VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS EMERGENCY VET. The doctor insisted to put down my dog many times without suggesting any other solutions. My dog is quite old and the doctor seemed like she didn't give much care in my dog and already pulled out all the bills and told us how much more it would be to put down my dog on top of the 2 xrays that they did for him before we agreed to any of it. The estimated bill came up to $700+. She insisted to put him down even though we said we wanted to take him home. She said that we were "committing animal cruelty" and that she will not allow us to take him home. At the end when we didn't agree with her, she ignored us as we left the vet. It has been 2 weeks and my dog is VERY MUCH alive and acting like his old self again. This vet is not professional and only wants to make money and do business. They gave absolutely no love and care to my pet and I want to warn all others who love their pet to not come to this vet.

Amazing Vets. Most of the complaints seem to be about the money, but it is an emergency so you should expect to be paying about double. And well if you don't have money (like someone below) you shouldnt expect them to help you for free. My lab was hit by a car last year, atlantic animal hospital said take him home and bring him to me in the morning for surgery. I said no and took him to mainland and they said surgery was necessary right away. They tried their best, doggie died 3 times but made out in the end. They followed up nicely as well. They did everything right. Cost 10K for 4-5 days of care and emergency services with monitoring 24 hours. But all in all they did everything they could even after telling us to put the dog down, as his survival chance was only 5%. They didnt give up and gave us back a healthy dog! Couldnt thank them enough!

$1200 dollars for some x-rays, antibiotics and an unnecessary glucose intravenous drip. My dog had a painful butt. Nothing they did made any difference and I had to go to a proper vet a few days later. They gave me a cream for under my dogs tail and charged me $125. Unless your pet is bleeding out, avoid this money trap.

My little crested was having difficulty breathing and running a high fever, of course it was at 11:30 pm, and this was the only vet open, so no choice. Got there at midnight, took him right away. The vet was great and the staff friendly. Vet did a thorough exam, and what she suspected was going on. By 1:30 in the morning, I had full blood panel & xray results. I did have to pick him up and transport him to my regular vet for further care cause they closed at 8:00am. They were nice enough to leave the IV tube in so he didn't have to go through having another one reinserted. By the time I got to my vets, they had previously called him to inform him of what was happening and had all the records, test results to him. I wasn't counting on the 1,000.00 vet bill..ouch! But, they did everything right..he had pneumonia..don't know how he got it in the middle of March and hardly ever goes outside..mystery

I brought my cat in because he was having trouble urinating. They whisked him right in and since he hadn't been to the vet in awhile, wanted to run some tests, do a urinalysis etc. Once they typed up an estimate it was close to $1300!!..so far. But it was good Friday and easter weekend so the vet near my house was closed and nobody else seemed to be able to take him until Monday so I really didn't have a choice. He ended up staying there pretty much all weekend because he still couldn't pee on his own and then they wanted me to take him to my vet. They rarely called me with updates. If I wanted to find out anything I had to call them. I suppose since its an ER they can charge whatever they want because people are desperate to get their pets help. I ended up spending $1900 to find out he was still blocked. So I won't be going there again.

BROUGHT MY SUGAR GLIDER TO SEE DR DHALIWAL WITH AN INJURY. DID A GOOD JOB EVEN THOUGH HE TOLD US HE DID NOT HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE WITH SUGAR GLIDERS. HE TREATED HER ON EMERGENCY BASIS. SHE LIVES TODAY BECAUSE OF HIM. 10/10. I WILL GO BACK IF I HAVE EMERGENCY WITH MY PET.

I went to the Vancouver Emergency Animal Hospital on Saturday night and was told that we should do xrays and blood tests as well as a pancreatitis test. They were going to charge $500 for everything. We did the blood work but refused to do the xrays there and the vet was horrible. She was rude and condescending and was not helpful at all but instead tried to make us feel bad because we didn't want to spend $300 doing the xray there. We went the next day to Mainland and were seen right away and Dr. Zeller was amazing! He was so kind and patient and explained everything to us and even tried to work within our limited budget for the best care for our dog. Dr. Randy was also amazing and explained all the results of the test and was patient when addressing our concerns. The treatments our dog was given were so reasonable compared to so many other clinic, especially the emergency ones, and they didn't try to push unneccessary test just to get money. This is an amazing clinic!!

highly recommended. went to this facility in the middle of the night with my cat in severe respiratory distress. she was quickly triaged by front staff and put in oxygen cage right away. doctor sat with me and my family and discussed everything in detail and possible congestive heart failure. I really liked the way he handled the situation. Our little girl did make great recovery over the weakend. We were informed at every step to what was going on. She mad full recovery and is on few meds but doing great at home. Thanks to staff at Mainland Animal Emergency. If you have real emergency, please head straight to Mainland. I am paramedic and know a lot of emergency stuff in human beings. I was amazed to see advancement in veterinary medicine, all the equipments, techniques used at Mainland. Thanks to all staff again. highly recommended.

I cannot WARN PEOPLE in any stronger terms - DO NOT, DO NOT EVER go to this emergency clinic. Head straight for the Animal Emergency Clinic of Fraser Valley in Langley, where care is superb. The Mainland Clinic provides third world animal care. I brought my cat in with a severe reaction to a vaccine earlier that day. I knew what was going on and realized it was rapidly turning into anaphylactic shock. Even though I told the staff all this, they were the most INEPT people I have ever seen handling an animal and did NOT administer basic appropriate care. Their care was GROSSLY lacking, their knowledge was EXTREMELY limited - but their invoice was for over $1,000. Their facility is also dirty and ill-equpped. My cat almost died twice in a period of less than 10 hours. When I moved her out to the other emergency clinic in Langley, they had her stablized within an hour. She lives today ONLY because of the Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley. DO NOT GO TO MAINLAND EVER!!!

The doctors here are amazing. They're honest about what can be done to save your pet and they have reasonable charges. The one vet I saw when my dog was hit by a car, was very sweet and kind. I wish they could be my regular vet.

My dog was in congestive heart failure and in desperate need of lasix to releive the pressure on his chest. The Doctor put in an IV and adminstered the drug, had us hang out for an hour to make sure it worked, ended up giving him several more injections before allowing us to go home....together. :) He saved my dogs life.
