Terrible place we took our dog here and spent 1400 and they misdiagnosed her saying she ingested something. We have to take her to another emergency clinic because they did not know what she had. Dr. Dhaliwal and Malhotra were the ones that mis-diagnosed our dog. She had liver cancer, kidney failure and died of cardiac arrest. Imagine if your dog is misdiagnosed but could actually be saved. They have not even called back to inquire. Never seen anything more heartless or un professional than this place.

We had to take our sweet boxer lily here for care and Dr. Dhaliwal and the staff were absolutely amazing. Not out to gouge us at all!! We had to say good bye to our sweet Lily and Dr. Dhiliwal was so kind and compassionate. I wish he had a regular practice, I would definitely use him as my regular vet. Thank you Dr. Dhaliwal, for everything.

I recently brought my puppy in because she was very sleepy, vomiting, and had diarrhea. I was very worried about her! The staff was very helpful and empathetic, and the doctor was wonderful! Did a full and thorough exam, and provided a cost estimate and everything was explained to me in detail. The front desk people were very helpful by explaining the medications that they prescribed and also gave me a home care instruction sheet. I highly reccommend this clinic!

VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS EMERGENCY VET. The doctor insisted to put down my dog many times without suggesting any other solutions. My dog is quite old and the doctor seemed like she didn't give much care in my dog and already pulled out all the bills and told us how much more it would be to put down my dog on top of the 2 xrays that they did for him before we agreed to any of it. The estimated bill came up to $700+. She insisted to put him down even though we said we wanted to take him home. She said that we were "committing animal cruelty" and that she will not allow us to take him home. At the end when we didn't agree with her, she ignored us as we left the vet. It has been 2 weeks and my dog is VERY MUCH alive and acting like his old self again. This vet is not professional and only wants to make money and do business. They gave absolutely no love and care to my pet and I want to warn all others who love their pet to not come to this vet.

My dog suddenly began to stagger and be totally disorientated after wandering off to a neighbors property this afternoon. She had diarrhea and threw up on the way to this vet. Had suspected she ate something bad and should have trusted my instincts to wait an hour or two and see if throwing up made her better. Dr.Zaffer turned out to be the biggest con artist I have ever met. As I my 17 year dog has had a stable congestive heart condition for the past two years he saw this as an optunity to convince me I needed a miriad of tests in addition to addressing what was most obvious food poisoning and would have soaked me for probably $1000 dollars by time he was all done. When I insisted on just the basic charcoal treatment with a wait and see for a few hours approach he proceeded to insult me for cheaping out.I told him to stuff it up his A ... and do only what I asked and give me my dog back. Two hours later she’s back eating food and water and number one again. Never deal with this clown.

Amazing Vets. Most of the complaints seem to be about the money, but it is an emergency so you should expect to be paying about double. And well if you don't have money (like someone below) you shouldnt expect them to help you for free. My lab was hit by a car last year, atlantic animal hospital said take him home and bring him to me in the morning for surgery. I said no and took him to mainland and they said surgery was necessary right away. They tried their best, doggie died 3 times but made out in the end. They followed up nicely as well. They did everything right. Cost 10K for 4-5 days of care and emergency services with monitoring 24 hours. But all in all they did everything they could even after telling us to put the dog down, as his survival chance was only 5%. They didnt give up and gave us back a healthy dog! Couldnt thank them enough!

$1200 dollars for some x-rays, antibiotics and an unnecessary glucose intravenous drip. My dog had a painful butt. Nothing they did made any difference and I had to go to a proper vet a few days later. They gave me a cream for under my dogs tail and charged me $125. Unless your pet is bleeding out, avoid this money trap.

My little crested was having difficulty breathing and running a high fever, of course it was at 11:30 pm, and this was the only vet open, so no choice. Got there at midnight, took him right away. The vet was great and the staff friendly. Vet did a thorough exam, and what she suspected was going on. By 1:30 in the morning, I had full blood panel & xray results. I did have to pick him up and transport him to my regular vet for further care cause they closed at 8:00am. They were nice enough to leave the IV tube in so he didn't have to go through having another one reinserted. By the time I got to my vets, they had previously called him to inform him of what was happening and had all the records, test results to him. I wasn't counting on the 1,000.00 vet bill..ouch! But, they did everything right..he had pneumonia..don't know how he got it in the middle of March and hardly ever goes outside..mystery

I brought my cat in because he was having trouble urinating. They whisked him right in and since he hadn't been to the vet in awhile, wanted to run some tests, do a urinalysis etc. Once they typed up an estimate it was close to $1300!!..so far. But it was good Friday and easter weekend so the vet near my house was closed and nobody else seemed to be able to take him until Monday so I really didn't have a choice. He ended up staying there pretty much all weekend because he still couldn't pee on his own and then they wanted me to take him to my vet. They rarely called me with updates. If I wanted to find out anything I had to call them. I suppose since its an ER they can charge whatever they want because people are desperate to get their pets help. I ended up spending $1900 to find out he was still blocked. So I won't be going there again.

WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER. Don't take your pet here if you don't have to. The vet didn't even listen to what I was telling him and was very rude. He gave my dog antacid and stomach medication for something that was (and is STILL) stuck in his throat. The whole time he was talking about vomiting after I told him 3 times he is not vomiting. An arm and a leg later in $$ for nothing I didn't already know and medication that didn't help. The vet offered to then take the dog overnight- YA RIGHT, I am not leaving my dog in your uncapable hands so you can do experiments. It's disgusting that people like that can treat animals. If you can wait for an appointment at your regular vet that you can trust, do it! Or see a different animal hospital.

I took my Dog there after hours. We were attended by Dr. Zaffer. He was very knowledgeable & professional. He took the time to explain all the test results in terms we could understand. I have never had a vet that would take the time to explain the meaning of the test results. I was quite impressed. He treated our dog & within a day he was back to his old self playing & eating. They also took the time to call us in the evening to check on our dog. That was a first as well. I think I'm due to change vets. I would highly recommend this Emergency Animal Hospital. They seemed to have all the equipment necessary to treat the animals in house. The facilities were very clean as we were taken to the back, x-ray room to view our dog's x-rays. A couple of days later I had to call their office as I had a question & spoke to Dr. Dhaliwal who was also very helpful. They are a very caring team of vets if your pets need a vet in an emergency.

Had to take my dog here since my regular vet had already closed for the day and found that the staff was very compassionate and caring. The vet that i had talked to speaks to like your not stupid but gives you a straight answer explaining everything in detail. Although the prices seemed to be a bit high for my taste but for the service and attention that had been given to my dog was well worth it. i would highly recommend that if your in need of an animal emergency clinic that mainland animal would be the place to go to take yours too in any emergency!

Went there for an emergency at 4AM. They were what you hope for in a vet, caring, thorough, communicated well, and well diagnosed. The bill shocked me, but I guess it shouldn't have, when you show up at 4 AM you're going to pay a premium. Ultimately, our dog is better, and their service was great, so it's hard to complain. I would return, but only for an emergency due to what I perceive as a high cost.

BROUGHT MY SUGAR GLIDER TO SEE DR DHALIWAL WITH AN INJURY. DID A GOOD JOB EVEN THOUGH HE TOLD US HE DID NOT HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE WITH SUGAR GLIDERS. HE TREATED HER ON EMERGENCY BASIS. SHE LIVES TODAY BECAUSE OF HIM. 10/10. I WILL GO BACK IF I HAVE EMERGENCY WITH MY PET.

I will NEVER go to this clinic again! I brought my dog in after hours because he had thrown up and was breathing funny. This vet checked his chest and temperature and everything was normal. However, my dog threw up while in the clinic. The guy took one look at him, wanted to keep him overnight, hydrate him and run ALL these tests to see what was wrong. The whole shabang was going to cost 900$! 900$ just to run a few tests? I love my dog as if he were my son but I could tell my dog was not on his death bed. He was still acting rather normal. He did not need to stay overnight. It was like the guy did not want to give my dog back until he could convince us to run tests. My dog was back to normal in the morning. Turns out- I spoke with friends, and the exact same thing happened to them. And when they took their dog to their regular vet- she laughed at the amount this guy charged and apparently all the meds he had their dog on was wrong. I'm warning everyone- never go here.

This is a fantastic place, my cat did die as i arrived at the mainland emergency, But Dr.Zeller tried his best to revive my cat with me right there in the room with him but unfortuantly was unsuccessfull.I give this place a 100% and will forever now take any one of my animals there to be looked at and taken care of.

At first I thought this vet was great. My kitten Miley got her collar caught in her mouth and overstretched her jaw and was bleeding, she looked really bad. We took her in right away and he checked her and gave her a shot and said the bill was gonna cause $200, but we said we didn't have that much money, my bf wasn't working much because of his boss so we didn't have enough money (and im unemployed) so he said we could pay $50 which was nice. A couple weeks ago our other kitten Simba started to have a "seizure" he was flopping around on the ground and then stopped moving and wasn't responding to anything. And when he did come to, he was crying but it wasn't his normal cry. So I told my boyfriend to call the emergency vet and tell them the situation and ask them if they could help us this one time because my boyfriend lost his job and we couldn't afford anything and we didn't want him to die. But the vet just said "we can't help you, bye" All they want is your money.

This clinic is fabulous. This clinic is well taken care of and is clean. The veterinarians are great (especially Dr Randy) and they explain all details fully and patiently. The girls are wonderful and caring. My cat was well taken care of and recovered wonderfully. I would highly recommend Mainland Animal Emergency Clinic to everyone with after hours emergencies.

I went to the Vancouver Emergency Animal Hospital on Saturday night and was told that we should do xrays and blood tests as well as a pancreatitis test. They were going to charge $500 for everything. We did the blood work but refused to do the xrays there and the vet was horrible. She was rude and condescending and was not helpful at all but instead tried to make us feel bad because we didn't want to spend $300 doing the xray there. We went the next day to Mainland and were seen right away and Dr. Zeller was amazing! He was so kind and patient and explained everything to us and even tried to work within our limited budget for the best care for our dog. Dr. Randy was also amazing and explained all the results of the test and was patient when addressing our concerns. The treatments our dog was given were so reasonable compared to so many other clinic, especially the emergency ones, and they didn't try to push unneccessary test just to get money. This is an amazing clinic!!

highly recommended. went to this facility in the middle of the night with my cat in severe respiratory distress. she was quickly triaged by front staff and put in oxygen cage right away. doctor sat with me and my family and discussed everything in detail and possible congestive heart failure. I really liked the way he handled the situation. Our little girl did make great recovery over the weakend. We were informed at every step to what was going on. She mad full recovery and is on few meds but doing great at home. Thanks to staff at Mainland Animal Emergency. If you have real emergency, please head straight to Mainland. I am paramedic and know a lot of emergency stuff in human beings. I was amazed to see advancement in veterinary medicine, all the equipments, techniques used at Mainland. Thanks to all staff again. highly recommended.

I had a 15 year old dog who had been going downhill health-wise over the past week. My family and I decided it was time to say goodbye. We called Mainland Animal Emergency and asked if they had a doctor who would come to our house to put her to sleep. They said yes and the doctor and his assistant were at our house within an hour. They were very kind and understanding of what we were going through. The whole procedure left us feeling like we had made the right decision. If we ever have to bring another pet somewhere in an emergency, we're going straight to Mainland because we know that they'll help us to do what's right and won't hide anything, they'll tell us straight up what they think should be done.

I cannot WARN PEOPLE in any stronger terms - DO NOT, DO NOT EVER go to this emergency clinic. Head straight for the Animal Emergency Clinic of Fraser Valley in Langley, where care is superb. The Mainland Clinic provides third world animal care. I brought my cat in with a severe reaction to a vaccine earlier that day. I knew what was going on and realized it was rapidly turning into anaphylactic shock. Even though I told the staff all this, they were the most INEPT people I have ever seen handling an animal and did NOT administer basic appropriate care. Their care was GROSSLY lacking, their knowledge was EXTREMELY limited - but their invoice was for over $1,000. Their facility is also dirty and ill-equpped. My cat almost died twice in a period of less than 10 hours. When I moved her out to the other emergency clinic in Langley, they had her stablized within an hour. She lives today ONLY because of the Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley. DO NOT GO TO MAINLAND EVER!!!

The Doctors at this emergency clinic are amazing! They care so much about our pets and take the time to explain everything to us thoroughly. They are NOT high pressure and as costly as the other emergency clinics. I have had to take more than one of my pets here on multiple occasions and couln't have been treated any better. Would definately recommend Mainland Emerg over the other emergency clinics in the area!

My dog was in congestive heart failure and in desperate need of lasix to releive the pressure on his chest. The Doctor put in an IV and adminstered the drug, had us hang out for an hour to make sure it worked, ended up giving him several more injections before allowing us to go home....together. :) He saved my dogs life.
