Click to report rating    7/4/18   5     5     5     5   Dr Marlow and the other vets are absolutly fantastic. I have been going to Brookswood vet since I got my very first dog. Than was 30 years ago. I would go nowhere else. Dr Marlow seems especially gifted at helping dogs live very long, comfortable lives ie. our Malamute lived until 14 yrs and was cheerful, and comfortable until the end - RID: 66425
Click to report rating    3/9/18   5     5     5     5   Dr. Marlowe, Dr. Olson and Dr. Machine have all been amazing while taking care of our now 17 year old golden retriever. Treating her cataract, issues with hips, and just showing an immense amount of professionalism, love and care has kept our pet with us for far longer than we could have hoped. Hands down best vet clinic in Greater Vancouver. RID: 65728
Click to report rating    6/13/17   5     5     5     5   I have been with this vet for 28 years and will not go anywhere else. Dr marlow and DR Wright are both awesome and i've seen quite a few reviews here saying they always have new staff and yet i've been dealing with the same staff for years??? and they are amazing. They care for your pets like their own. i trust them 100% and would recommend them 100% RID: 63905
Click to report rating    2/13/13   4     4     2     3   ALWAYS new staff when we come in - this is something to take note of! I have heard Dr. Marlow talking rudely to his staff in the back which is why I see the other female doctor (who is great!) Not cheap, not outrageous - fairly priced. Seem to wait around for appointments a lot. Overall, the clinic is good except for the male doctor! RID: 40402
Click to report rating    12/22/12   5     5     5     1   My cat had a chronic condition and unfortunately we had to have him put to sleep due to the cost of the procedures and the uncertainty of his survival. Overall I was satified with Mr Marlow's diagnosis and the care given, but as seniors on fixed incomes it would have been appreciated to get a break on the ongoing costs of drugs and the special food diet required. RID: 39205
Click to report rating    11/3/12   1     1     2     1   Took a newborn litter of pups here for tail docking. pups were maintained at home, well heated by lamps and heating pads. Took to this vet in a car we warmed up for 10 minutes to ensure it was warm, and upon pick up when they were done, the pups were COLD. This cold helps the canine herpes virus take over thier poor little immune systems (testing proved the cause of death) and we lost 6 pups. Not only an emotional loss, but also a financial loss, that never should have happened. If a vet clinic is unable to properly care for certain types of things, like puppies who rely on heat to maintain health, they should not offer thier services. I will NOT be returning, after the loss of so many of our well loved little guys. RID: 38257
Click to report rating    11/3/12   5     5     5     5   Dr,Marlow is AMAZING! We live in Vancouver and All 3 of my Weims go there. He is Caring and explains everything. He has himself followed up with me at home to see how my dog was.He performed a very delicate operation on one of my dogs and the outcome was beyond great. The Vancouver Emergency Clinic would have charged 6x the price. To those that wrote that his Staff keeps changing the same two Tech have been there for 15 plus years.I do know that he does foster Student Placements so perhaps that is what you are seeing RID: 38254
Click to report rating    10/27/12   4     5     4     1   service is good but the vet seems to be more of a salesman than a vet. dog had an infection in his paw and the vet insisted that he needed an xray to see if it was broken when i knew it wasnt. convinced me to to waste my money on it and it turned out it wasnt broken, it was an infection as i had thought. it seems their pricing is a bit higher than average too. RID: 38111
Click to report rating    8/18/12   1     2     1     1   New staff every time we go here and we always have to see a new vet. The wait is always way after your scheduled appointment time and the doctor seems to ask the same question multiple times during an appointment like he forgets? Most of the staff seem really nice but I the doctor never listens to your concerns and always talks over you. RID: 36650
Click to report rating    11/23/11   5     5     5     5   Sometimes we forget to praise. But, I now must thank Dr. Machine for the excellent care and compassion she gave my two Shelties over many years. RID: 29351
Click to report rating    2/24/11   5     5     5     5   I have been going to this Vet hospital for the past 20 years. Dr Marlow started out on his own and has grown very successful. He charges a bit more than some vets but that's only b/c he has the client base and professionalism to do it. Money shouldn't be an object when it comes to your pet's health. This vet is amazing, explains everything to you, gives you options. I moved away and tried other vets, only to storm out of some.I now drive the distance b/c i know how well my animals are treated here. I used to volunteer here and I know exactly what happens "behind the scenes" and can say that your animal will not receive better care anywhere else, and you will not find a more knowledgeable team of Vets. You and your pet are the first priority here. RID: 23113
Click to report rating    1/5/11   4     5     5     4   Good vet (Dr. Marlow), wonderful 'bedside manner', but if you are facing the horrible decision of euthanasia for an ailing pet, please carefully inquire as to the procedure. I did not have a good experience in this regard. The best way is sedation, mask with oxygen and anesthesia, and then the needle, not poking around in the poor animals leg over and over while he is held tightly upright with no sedation or pain medication. I was not offered options, and I made a mistake by not inquiring, and have to live with the horrible memory. RID: 21808
Click to report rating    11/15/10   3     5     2     3   I took my kitten there to be spayed on a free certicate. They keep them in for 1 day which was fine but when i went to pick her up it took them over an hour to bring her to me. Once the vet came to talk to me she talked for another 20 min. I have gone thru this spay stuff many times and seemed to be a waste of my time. My cat healed fine and all but alot of nonsense goes on there it seems RID: 20870
Click to report rating    4/3/08   1     1     1     1   I went to them with my seven month old cat to have a simple neuter. Later that day they called me to tell me he had died under anesthetic. He was a healthy (by the Dr's own proclaimation) young boy, and in the short time I had him, I loved him very much. The doctor couldn't offer me any explaination except "These things happen". No, they don't. If he was being properly monitored, it wouldn't have happened. Other vets I'd been to with past animals always gave me a run-down of what would happen during my pet's surgery, and part of it was that they'd be hooked up to a pulse or heart monitor. Brookswood said they didn't do that for my cat, so who knows how long he was dead before they realized it. This was a couple of years ago, and to this day the situation haunts me. I blame myself, I should have never gone there just because it was closer than other vets I had been to. Anyone with half a brain would never go there. RID: 7911
