MONEY GRUBBERS. I had my two dogs seen by the vet for skin issues. The vet recommended my dog be put on Brevecto. I was supposed to pick it up that day but because of a financial pinch I was in I had to put it off two weeks. I came back to pick it up and the receptionist told me that I had to pay AGAIN for a wellness visit in order to get the Brevecto!!! She tried telling me it was the law and when I called her on that she said " Well, its an ethical issue" I dont understand how it could an ethical issue when the vet prescribed it to me for my dogs! BUNCH OF MONEY GRUBBERS ( Vets were nice) but I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I have been going here for years. I love the staff and the practice. They may be a bit more expensive than other places but in my opinion they are worth it. The vets always take the time to answer any questions that I have about my pet and the support staff has been there for a really long time. It is nice to walk into a practice and be recognized without having to tell them who I am!

We have had at best mixed support from Edgefield for several years. But this recent incident has me looking for a new practice. One of our cats is diabetic and on Vetsulin, which is being recalled. Edgefield called us with the warning which is appreciated. They will no longer provide it. They will provide a $100/vial substitute or I can buy human insulin. I asked what kind of insulin to buy, and the front desk person said any kind. I asked what the dosage would be, she said, oh probably the same. Sounds like malpractice to me. My research is showing me that picking insulin is something best guided by a doctor. In general, this is a very expensive vet. They are after your cash and don't seem particularly interested in animal care.

Outdated equipment, staff burned out and now venture to grabbing the $$$ instead of ethical & compassionate treatment of your pet. Question & request copies of records, don't let any smiles fool you!
