I have been taking my 2 dogs here for a little over a year, the staff is amazing and so are the vets they are always friendly and ive only had to call back for a test result once. My advice would be just to try shamrock for yourself and u can be the judge. dont listen to these other comments.

We came in with our puppy very sad and scared and found very friendly caring people here. Communication was great and the place is clean. A+

Shamrock has provided excellent care for our yellow labrador retriever. Dr. Hansen saved our dog's life when she was two with emergency surgery. Dr. Phillips really got to know our dog and understand her health. The nurses are friendly and helpful and we feel fortunate to have such great care for our dog.

I have been taking all of my pets--2 dogs and 2 cats--to this hospital for two years, and have nothing but praise for them! They ALWAYS call back with test results, and call to check on my pets after any procedure has been done. I have seen three of the vets, and all of them have been great with the animals. I have had to wait a couple of times--but only for 10-15 minutes, and have always received an apology and explanation for the wait. I can't really compare cost, because I haven't gone to any other vet since I started here. The negative comments here really surprise me, which is the main reason for this post. I encourage people to at least give Shamrock a try, and judge for themselves.

I just read all of the postings and are surprised by some of these responses. I have been going to Shamrock Vet for years and have never had a problem. The staff is very knowledgeable and all the Vets are great. If you think about when you go to the Doctor do you expect a call back directly from them when results come in? The vet (not assistant) will call me and check to see how my pet is doing and give me results personally. I don't think my doctor does that for me. Some people on here seem to be a bit harsh. I think it is a great vet.

I brought my 4 yr. old dog in for his yearly exam. The vet tech. took his temp. and my dog let out a yelp and barked and cried. I said “Oh my God, do you know what your doing?” “He’s never reacted this way!” She assured me she new what she was doing. That was on a Wednesday. He had bloody stools that evening and the following morning. I called the Vet first thing in the morning. I left my home phone and my cell phone #. No one called me back that day. The following day was the 4th of July so they were closed. I called July 5th and left a message. NO ONE HAS CALLED ME AS OF YET! It’s July 7th.

I have 2 cats and a dog. One time my dog had a bladder infection and when I went in as an emergency it was the first time I had ever been there so they charge me $60 for a first time exam where the doctor is supposed to look at the dog but he never even touch him. They just ran a uti in the lab. Also they said that they didn't find anything but would call me if the Lab came back pos. This puzzled me because there was blood in my dogs urine. 1 week went by No phone call still blood in urine so I called back and they said the test came back Pos. MY POOR DOG!!! Also I had to call 3 times (different days) for a refill on my cats sezure meds each time they said they would call me back. NO CALL BACK. I do however like DR. Sarah W.

My family has taken our animals there for several years and we have had no problems with thier procedures or attitudes. in fact i worked there as a kennel worker as my first job when I was a teenager and seen first hand how alot of things are handled in the back room

Had a wonderful experience with Dr. Hansen. We had 2 very complex surgeries performed there, with nothing but exceptional results. Moreover, the post-op follow-up was amazing--the post op xrays went through 2 sets of reviews, and that 2nd review caught a very hard to identify infection that could have easily gone unnoticed.

The punctuality at the original visit was perfect. However I was supposed to receive a follow up phone call within 24 hours for some problems. I finally called them a few days later to let them know I had not received the results. They were very pleasant about the call...however I was disappointed in that aspect of the service.

The lazer declawing is NOT recommended as the animal is under a far greater time then the regular way! And besides declawing isn't cool! Secondly this clinic is a "cheap" clinic because they do procedures and care with very little effort! DO NOT take your pet here!

What clinic are you talking about? I had a fantastic experience at Shamrock! Brand new clinic with a huge waiting room (complete with fireplace), VERY friendly staff, fast service, and immaculate (didn't even smell like a vet's office). I walked in and did a double-take, thinking I'd walked into some other office. Prices are great too! I wound up getting a microchip as well for just $20 over the budget I'd set. I'll probably switch both dogs and cat over to Shamrock now.

Contrary to the other posting, I have have wonderful service from Dr. Hansen and his staff. The front desk is very informative and sensitive. I have 2 cats and one dog. My experience has always been outstanding. We receive phone calls as follow up when new medications are prescribed. Due to the great service, it is sometimes difficult to get in for an emergency but Shamrock will always provide direction or recommend another emergency clinic, if necessary.

Yes the front desk staff are very rude, making ugly comments about people waiting to see the vets. The vet techs are rather nasty to and the vets misdiagnois to many times for me so I swithced vets. They might of been mentioned on WCCO but be careful you get what you pay for!

The vets are great but the office staff is rude, unprofessional, and bad enough for us to find another vet. The front desk staff is rude on the phone and in person. We were one of four clients that left due to office staff that we know of in one month. We wish the doctors would get new staff.

This vet offers a laser declaw procedure for cats, I had this done on mine and it was a great experience. My cat healed very quick and I felt she was VERY well taken care of. I highly recommend them and this procedure. It costs a little more but it's worth it.
